I'm hoping someone can help!!! We are leaving for Disney on Monday. DH and I had decided to purchase AP since we're going for a full week. My DH has just gotten his FL drivers license (we've only been here a few months). I have not. Long story short...when I went to get it...the registry still had my maiden name under my SS#. Since my CT drivers license had my married name they refused to issue me a new lilcense. I just learned through Disney that you must provide a FL license or other state issued ID...which of course I do not have. I am NOT trying, in any way, to be dishonest...but has anyone ever been able to get a FL resident ticket by showing a lease agreement and utility bills in their name? I appreciate ANY help you can give me!!!
P.S. are there any places where the cast members are more understanding to things like this?
Thank You in advance!!!

Did you take your marriage certificate with you to get your license?

Yes...tried that! I was married 7 years ago...turned in the paperwork for change of name, but it was changed. So, DMV will only issue it once I've corrected the mistake with Social Sec.
:sad2:

Thank you...I appreciate the list of ID's. Unfortunately I don't have any of the ones listed. I was just hoping someone had a similar experience and could offer some advise. I actually had two Disney operators tell me two different things. The first said "no exceptions". Being determined I tried again a few hrs later and that kind person :) said they would take the lease agreement and utility bills??? I wish I could get her on Monday when I 'm there purchasing my AP's!!!

I'm so sorry for you...what a pain!
I would go straight to the source for information...call and ask... :goodvibes

Staying until Friday at SSR. Maybe we'll see you! Good Luck with the I.D.
thing. I wish I had an answer for you. Some proof of residency should do it. :thumbsup2

Can you take your marriage license and get a state-issued ID with the right name/info on it?? My dad, who lives in FL, is getting one of those for an upcoming cruise for passport reasons, since there is a name discrepancy between his birth certificate name and that on his driver's license. :confused3

Does Disney have a residency (length of time) requirement to qualify for resident benefits?

Did you register to vote?

If the CM's at one Guest Relations location are not sympthatic you could try another Guest Relations. Ask for a manager at each location to explain the circumstances before giving up.

I was going to suggest the same thing. I have no experience but I just think that if you take all of your documentation ,someone will be understanding. If the first CM isn't, ask for his/her supervisor.

All you need to do is go to the Florida DMV and purchase a Florida ID card, you need your social security card, florida address complete and I believe 6 or 7 dollars. It takes but 30 minutes to breeze in and out and its accepted at WDW and all over Florida. Its what the snowbirds do that spend 6 months north and six months in Florida and have no permanent address. You can retain your home state drivers license and don't even have to show it when applying.

Thank you everyone...for your extremely helpful input!!! I'm going to try to get my florida i.d and if that doesn't work I'm going to try to find a cast member who will accept the paperwork I have.

Thanks again...you were all so helpful!!! :thumbsup2
