On 9/11 every year my department holds a ceremony for all those who were lost on that terrible day. In 2003 I took my daughter with me to the ceremony and a newspaper photographer caught this image of me and my daughter.
My chief thought it was so poignant for the time that we put together a photo board of 9/11 images and every year no matter if it's the first time or the 100th time you see this photo all who see it tell me how much it touches them.
The first time my chief gave it to me I had tears in my eyes and my wife did too when I showed her. Everyone who sees it says it is the true meaning of why emergency services workers do the job each and everyday.
I hope you all think so..May we never forget.

And, thanks for doing what you do!
