We are arriving March 28, in the early afternoon. DVC members, staying at BWV/ We would like to see the fireworks at TOTWL. What time should we arrive? Any advice/suggestions? Thanks.

You can arrive pretty much anytime. If you want to get food or drinks before the fireworks I'd plan on 60 to 90 minutes ahead to allow plenty of time. If you want to just watch fireworks or to get something in the lounge after them I'd just arrive in at the BLT lobby 15 or 20 minutes ahead of time.

Top of the World Lounge is located at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Disney Vacation Club Members staying at any Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort (whether they booked with vacation points or cash) may enjoy access to one of the vacation kingdom's most exclusive spaces: Top of the World Lounge atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort through December 29, 2015 (blockout dates apply. Including but not limited to 12/30/14, 12/31/14, 7/3/15, and 7/4/15). Current operating hours are 6 p.m. to midnight.

This perk is available exclusively to Members and those in their traveling party who are staying on that Member's reservation. At least one Member in the traveling party must accompany the group and present his or her current Magic Band or Key to the World card with a Disney Vacation Club Membership notation in order to gain admission to the lounge and observation deck. If the Member's Magic Band or Key to the World card doesn't display a Membership notation, a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card is required in addition to the Key to the World card to verify Membership.

Note that Members traveling from other Resorts must use Walt Disney World Transportation, as parking is unavailable to anyone not staying at Bay Lake Tower or Disney's Contemporary Resort. Upon arrival, Members must walk to the Bay Lake Tower main lobby entrance on the ground floor and check in at the Top of the World Lounge desk in the lobby.

This special Top of the World Lounge access is available on a first-come, first-served basis until the lounge reaches capacity. As the lounge is particularly popular during the Magic Kingdom fireworks, arriving as early as possible will give Members the best chance of gaining admission.

Basically yes as long as 1) you are staying on property somewhere (you can't just be a florida resident just stopping in being a member) and 2) it's not a blackout date (typically july 3&4 and Dec 30&31)

Has anyone found they couldn't get in due to capacity? Especially if staying at BLT

The maximum occupancy inside and outside is 499. I can't imagine it will be full.

We stayed at BLT over the 4th of July and watched on the 3rd (which is a blackout date for non BLT guests) and the inside AND outside were mobbed. I got there 2 hours early for a table on the glass. I've NEVER seen anywhere near that kind of crowd before......even on MVMCP nights when the fireworks are different/better. I don't think capacity would be an issue unless your looking at a blackout date....and even then I can't say if it did or didn't reach capacity....I just know it was more people than I've ever seen up there before.

I've never been there during a time that it's blacked out but no, never even been close during one of our visits which have been in 6 different months and more than once to watch either MNSSHP or MVMCP fireworks.
