Okay.. just really quick blurb here because I miss DISNEY SOOO MUCH!

We have a Paramounts theme park here. I got season passes b/c they have a waterpark also. DD (3) and I have been 3 times already. Its a great afternoon activity for us. Anyway.. I wanted to cry yesterday.. It SOO is not Disney.

Catherine and I were having a quiet moment under a tree when Scooby Doo came out from behind a fence. OH WOW! YAY! Catherine jumped up all excited and ran over to him. Well in 2 seconds there were big kids everywhere butting infront of my DD and just rushing Scooby. It got quiet and Cat was about to go up and another kid butt, then another and another. I was so ticked off. The handler just stands there. My sweet Disney-trained DD just stood and waited. I finally said to a parent who'd JUST walked up and was shoving her kid at Scooby that we'd been there and MY DD had waited and it was OUR TURN. Finally the handler told Scooby to make sure Catherine was next.

I just miss the handlers and plain old polite people at Disney. Parents are so different there! Parents were polite and patient.. nobody shoving their kid to the front of the line. everyone waiting like the rest of us.

I for one will keep raising my DD with manners and patience. I just hope she gets to go to Disney more often where she can see she isnt the only one using them!

I know what you mean! We also have a Paramount park and I just keep comparing it to the World - no comparison really! The people who work at the rides are always so bored and uninterested, the character encounters are just so-so and the guests are ruder than anyone I've ever encountered at Disney.

I wish I lived close enough to the World to get there several times a year! :(

I have never been to WDW. I went to Six Flags on Saturday for another backpack/tennis shoe trial run (oh, yeah, and my Girl Scout troop went, too) and noticed things that I have never noticed before coming to the DIS boards.

The employees were really nice and wanted to make sure we enjoyed a ride after we got off of it. Before the ride they worked to get us excited about the ride. The may have done that before but I never noticed it.

When Tweety or Bugs Bunny came out, they went to a pavillion with a line and only one child at a time was allowed up. I watched for a few moments and they intereacted very well with the children.

The big thrill of the day was the Spongebob 4D show. It was great and now my daughter knows what a 4D show is so there won't be much of an issue getting her in the shows at WDW.

The only thing I didn't like was that there were photographers at some of the rides wanting to take your picture in the ride. It was a pain and held up the ride.

Hello from a fellow North Texan!

My daughter is a GS also... bridging to Cadets next week. We just got Season Passes for Six Flags over Texas this year (first time)... mostly for the thrill rides.

If you think the employees are nice, they are NICER at WDW.

If you think the the characters interact well, they are EVEN MORE SO at WDW.

If you think the theming is good, it is WAY BETTER at WDW.

If you think it is clean, it is EMACULATE at WDW.

And lastly, because the guests at WDW generally are on vacation (rather that local teenagers being baby-sat at the park), the guests are more well behaved! Oh, yeah... and dressed better!

Anyway... you will never look at Six Flags over Texas the same way again!

Have fun!

That Disney quality is the elusive thing all the other parks strive for but can never match. It is almost like it is in the air. You walk in the gate and you immediately feel IT. It is clean, smells good, everyone is nice and it really seems like everyone - quests included - doesn't want to spoil it. This makes everyone nice. This is something that I have never found at any other park - no matter how nice everyone is. It is simply not that Disney feel.

I live 15 minutes from Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. When people ask me if I'm buying season passes for GA, I say nope. And they look at me with incredulous eyes and say "Why not????" I LOVE WDW and I know every time I go there I'll be disappointed because of WDW's standards. I'll go and be angry when I leave because it's not clean, the people are rude, and because GA can't move people efficiently. It just isn't worth my time and money. Nothing beats Disney. Nothing.
