Totally Stupid Question - Buxton Organizer

I'm just wondering if anyone has one of these and whether they've used it at WDW. We're going next month, and this seems like it MIGHT be a good idea. I want something that goes across my chest and won't feel "heavy" on me. I really don't want to carry a lot, but I want to carry a small video camera and a smallish regular camera, with the option of switching out the smaller camera for my larger digital 35mm Canon EOS. I'm trying to find a way to "minimize" as much as possible. And, if it carried a water bottle without feeling like 100 pounds, that'd be even better.

Thoughts? Better ideas?

My sister-in-law has one and LOVES it for travel, fairs, and sporting events. She is a petite and slim woman. Given her glowing praise, I gave it a try. I am a well endowed nursing mother and the darn thing was very uncomfortable when worn across my body.

When I tried to wear it like a "regular" purse, it felt off balance and didn't stay put well.

So, for what it is worth my brother's wife loves it, and I don't like it at all.

Eeyore's Wife...You touched on another issue that I had wondered about. Things "fit" different on the tiny little girls...and I'm far from a tiny little girl. I may have to just go look at one at BBB and see how it fits and go from there.

I used one on my trip last year just be very carefull because it doesn't close very well. I leaned over for something and my drivers licence fell out.

I brought one on our trip last year and the stitching came apart on it and it almost fell apart when we were in Epcot going around the WS. I had to hold the bag together until I bought one of the WDW backpacks. I really liked it, but it was very shoddily put together and I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

I have one also. I'm not a small woman either. I find it ok when using it at home, just going to the store or something like that, but it was uncomfortable taking it to WDW all day and night. It became heavy and hot from the material it's made of. The material around the magnet clasp started to tear. Also, the way it's shaped you can't change it to the other side if you get tired of carrying it on the side it's made for. I like cloth bags with cloth straps. I think they are a lot more comfortable. I have a couple of large cloth purses with flaps(like messenger bags) from Walmart that I really like.

Buxton bags might seem like a good idea, but remember that when you come in to the parks you will have to open up every single pocket on the bag and there are alot. If you're looking to save time don't get this bag and it does fall apart pretty easy if you're harsh on your bags.

I bought a Kippling bag. Well made, and deeeeeeeep bag, sits nicely on hip, slung out front, or off the butt out back. I hated the way my Heys (copy of baggallini) sat, and rubbed on my shoulder...this Kippling bag does not. closes up well, not too many pockets, just right. My SLR can fit and my video camera, wide strap doesn't weigh down too hard across the body... hope that helps

Which Kippling bag do you have? It sounds nice. There is a wide selection on their web site.
I used a Baggalini on my trip and I am ready for a change.

Thanks for the feedback. I just bought one and I do like how the things I need to fit in it seem to fit well, BUT I don't care for how cheaply it's made. I was wondering whether it might fall apart. That's too bad...the idea is a good one.

Hated it! It was uncomfortable, I found it to rub my neck, to the point of being almost raw! It didn't shut very well and as stated previously, things fell out of it! I did not like it, in fact I got rid of it because I just couldn't stand having it on!

I do not have a Buxton, but I got one by Travelon that looks exactly like it. I thought it would be perfect, but the main problem with it was that it didn't close securely. It just had a (weak) magnetic flap over the top opening. It didn't take long for stuff to fall out, especially if I sat down with it, or tried to lay it down. I realized I really need a bag that zips closed securely.

Ebags Piazza Day Bag

I've used it for traveling & my everyday bag for over a year and its still holding up extremely well. Soft & lightweight. I wear it cross body on a large frame with no problems. Comfortable. Holds a lot and its organized. All while still maintaining a THIN profile. Everything doesn't just sink to the bottom of the bag.

I have black which I guess they are out of?

They have a larger bag and a smaller bag too. Different name but ebags is still the maker.

The travelon bag I have I'm not crazy about. The pocket that is under the flap does not zip or snap. I always feel like something will fall out if I lean over. And that pocket is the MAIN pocket.

I used this for our trip in December and I had it pretty full. I loved it and am seriously surprised at all the negative comments. Of course to each his own, but for the money I was patting myself on the back for such a smart purchase!;)

I am not petite by any definition but the strap was long enough to accomodate my post baby belly. (honesty on the internet-don't you love it!?)

I could hold my keys to the world (I was carrying 8), hand sanitizer, my small digital camera, cell phone, a baggie of wipes, and an extra pull-up. I didn't use the net pockets as I didn't want any sticky-fingered folks to lift something important, but the rest of the bag was full.

There has been no wearing of zippers or fraying of threads. It was December, so it wasn't really hothothot out so I didn't have any discomfort from the weight of the fabric.

I thought it was the best $20 I spent for the trip! :woohoo:
