Totally overwhelmed by the offsite options!

I don't know if you've found a place to stay yet but we have stayed at, and loved, 5mins2disney.com and romancingthemouse.com , both at Windsor Hills.

Wow! That seems like an amazing price for a week car rental! Granted, I was looking at renting a minivan, but the cheapest price I could find was around $500!:scared1: I will have to follow your suggestions. Maybe, since I was looking so far in advanced the prices were higher? I was getting quotes for November 2012.

We needed room for 7-got a van for $120. However, don't forget to factor-in parking at WDW, and filling up the tank before returning it at the airport. Our total car cost was $300.

Can you share who you rented from? I am looking to rent a home as well, and I am fearful of the unknown too. I have gotten several quotes for homes off of vrbo, but would like names of people that others have dealt with.

My main advice, speaking from experience, is to rent a pool home if you can afford it. A home is usually one floor. We rented a townhome -- two stories -- without a pool and while the townhome was beautiful & comfortable, dragging the kids to the clubhouse pool was not fun. And the stairs inside the town home were steep, this is not safe for your children seeing how young they are.

We are renting a one-story pool home -- heading there on Friday. I dealt only with the actual homeowner -- not a company. I found her on vrbo.

Good luck! You'll be happy to stayed offsite (yup, I'm not an onsite fan at all!).

We always stay in the main building so whilst we have a huge condo like room, we also have the feel of a hotel. I like being able to wander downstairs to get a coffee or sit by the pool and know that I will probably end up chatting to someone. We have an 11 year old boy who always makes friends in the pool.

Can you please tell me which buliding is considered the main building? Thank you!

I am not sure if I can share that info on the board but I sent you a PM with the info :)

You got a great rate! Would you consider PMing me as well? Thank you!!

So....I'm trying to figure these properties out..Both seem to be highly recommended by DISers. Is the main difference that Windsor Hills offers actual homes to rent while Bonnet Creek is all villas? Also, the homes to rent at Windsor Hills seem to be a bit higher priced that other Orlando area vacation homes. Is that due to the proximity to the parks? Thanks again everyone for all your help!!!!!!!!

I have been researching my behind off, and have found several Windsor Hills townhouses for under $800 for 7 nights. I have discovered, that even if they have a price listed on VRBO, if you email the owner, you can get a MUCH better rate. VRBO has reviews, plus you can see more reviews on sites for the properties that are linked on the VRBO pages. From what I can see, all the windsor townhouses have private splash pools.

What is the noise like at WBC? Basically wondering how well the units are noise-proofed? I wouldn't want my kids disrupting anyone else nor would I want my family to be disrupted by loud neighbors.

Also,

Is there a way to search for homes on allstarvacationhomes or vbro that are one level? I really would like to not have to worry about keeping little ones off stairs while on vaca. Thanks again for all the help!!:goodvibes

I stayed at WBC last year during the week of 4th of July and we had families of 5 or more on both sides and we heard nothing and the resort was super crowed as soon as you opened the patio door you could hear but once it was closed, no noise.

This is great to hear! I'm hoping one of these days my husband and I might have a free second to sit down and talk about our options and decide!!:yay:

We have been very happy with vacationcentralflorida.com
Dave is awesome...most units have themed rooms
We stayed in 304 last time from SueEllen and loved it.

We went with Dave also. Out first trip off site is this August. $550 for a 3 bedroom townhouse at windsor hills
