Hey girls (and guys?)

Totally random question, but I figured SOMEONE here might know!

I know passport requirements have changed over the past few years and they are a must for flying anywhere out of the country. Well, cruise passport requirements have been somewhat different and they keep pushing the required passport date back.

Anyway, I'm trying to plan a surprise for my fiance. We went on a cruise last year (sept 08) that LEFT and RETURNED to a US port, so we did NOT need our passports (fiance doesn't have his). Does anyone know if this is still the law?

Thanks!!!

You will need a passport starting in June regardless if the cruise leaves and returns to a US port. Unless they push it back again it will be required. We booked a cruise for May and were told we did not need them (even though we have them)

ETA: It's June - not January. I miss typed.

Thanks! I know they keep changing it!! I guess he should just get one regardless.

Oops, I meant JUNE ~ The regulation is for JUNE of '09.... I guess I was just thinking of January. So if it is before then than you are good to go.
