Totally messed up my reservation!

Well I decided to rent/transfer some points from another member in order to go from a one bedroom to a two bedroom at OKW. I found a nice member who said he could do a transfer. I paid my money and then he called and said he could only do one transfer a year and he would have to make my reservation. I agreed and called MS on a conference call. We booked my first three nights in a two bedroom deducated at OKW near HH. No problems at all. THEN I went to change the second part of my reservation and they only had a two bedroom at HH for two of my nights and I needed 6. YIKES. I went ahead and kept my one bedroom near HH and waitlisted for the 6 nights in either a lockoff or dedicated. I could not get in a regular (not hh) two bedroom either because they did not have the night of July 3. So now here I sit with a two bedroom the first three nights and a one bedroom the last six....that is going to stink!! I am so upset with myself.

I did check and the only resort that has a two bedroom the entire time is SSR. I have stayed there one night in a studio in the springs section and really did not care for my parking lot view. It just did not feel like vacation to me. I was thinking of changing the entire stay and going to SSR and requesting the Paddock section for the new pool which is set to open on June 30 which is our arrival date so not too sure what will happen!

So what do you guys think...should I just stay where I am at and keep my two waitlists and hope for the best or move the entire thing to SSR? I am just hoping for my waitlist to clear but it is the week of July 4th so not too sure!! I guess the worst that could happen is that I would have to move from a two bedroom to a one bedroom but really wanted that second bathroom with three kids!! I was also looking forward to our first trip at OKW! Rooms look awesome and landscaping is so beautiful. It is just a resort I think I would love to stay at!!

I think since you have at least something guaranteed, you should stick with the waitlist. Trying to move when you ahve to rely on someone else to make part of the reservation is going to be a PITA!

Did you check to see if you could to a member cash reservation for the night of July 3rd? If so you could reserve the other nights in the 2BR non HH category and waitlist on points for the 3rd as well as waitlist for all the 6 nights in the HH category. That way you'd get the 2BR for the whole time although still have to move and you'd also have a better chance at a one night waitlist than 6 nights.

I will preface my remarks by saying that I hate moving while on vacation but you may feel differently about split stays.
Unless your group is pretty large and really needs OKW because of room size, I would move the whole reservation to SSR (assuming you can get the other member who is helping you to do this) and then waitlist the whole reservation at OKW. One downside is that the SSR reservation will take more points and that may make it difficult to handle when some of the points are coming from someone else. Good luck!

Thanks for the info! I think I am going to try and switch to a regular two bedroom and waitlist the night of the third and see if I can get it on member cash just in case it does not come through! The person I rented from is super nice and I think he would go ahead and change my reservation from HH to regular two bedroom.

So.....if I get this done what building do I request to be the closest to the HH area since I am not booking HH category???

I would request 15, 16, 18 and maybe the elevator buildings, but I think those are mostly reserved for people with mobility issues.
