We booked a long weekend in Dec. to be able to see the Osborne Lights.

Going to be a crazy couple of days....arriving in WDW on a Sat. afternoon and flying home on the Tues. morning. We have never been able to visit in Dec. before so any tips/tricks that anyone has to offer would be appreciated. I'm going to purchase MVMCP tickets for the Sun day night.

I can't wait....I've always wanted to be there around Christmas to see all the decorations and the castle looking like a giant icicle.:cloud9:

Good for you. The Lights are jaw dropping impressive....and wait until you see the Castle all done up! It's absolutely beautiful.

Expect crowds, don't get your hopes up for a lot of attractions. Just try to enjoy the atmosphere.

Have a great trip!

Lucky you! We booked a long weekend last December to see Disney all done up for Christmas too! We flew in on an early Friday morning flight and went straight to DHS for the day and stayed to see Osbourne Lights. It was totally crowded, but absolutely beautiful. We went to Magic Kingdom on Saturday and it was certainly magical being there while it was all decorated for the holidays. We had tickets to MVMCP for the Sunday night and had so much fun. Most of the rides were walk ons. We did start lining up to see the Seven Dwarfs very early (probably waited almost 90 min) before they even came out! We had fastpasses and dinner reservations so it made for a more enjoyable day despite the crowds.

Have a great trip!

Have fun! We booked a 3 night stay two years ago to see the lights. Loved them! We booked again for five nights this December when I heard that his would be the last year.

We're flying SW out of BUF so I've got my fingers crossed that the early morning flight drops in price. We could gain half a day it that works out.

Crowd calendars have the levels at a 4 so that sounds good. BUT...I realized that it's Pop Warner week :scared1: I can deal with them in the parks but I hope they are not staying at my resort. I'm a magnet for noisy hotel neighbours.

Good for you! The Osborne lights are fantastic! Btw we might be doing a mini pre Xmas trip as well. We were taking our DD to University in Saskatoon and WestJet cancelled our flight and rebooked us to a night flight. A few days after returning home WJ sent us a 20% off coupon, then our favorite resort, Vistana Villages sent us a stay 4 nights get the 5th night free offer plus 100.00 resort credit. Just checking dates in December that might work.

That sounds like a great deal. Hopefully, the airfare won't kill it.

I can't wait to hear about your experience at MVMCP :santa:! I'm going to have to do an earlier-in-December trip sometime, just to cross that off my bucket list. We would have loved to have added it to this year's Christmas trip, but we arrive the day after the last party :headache:.

I think a little whirlwind, super-charged, "crazy" trip sounds just perfect for you!! :teeth:

whirlwind and crazy completely describe me....no?

I'm going to need to take TONS of pictures. Can't decide if I should bring the camera or be one of 'those' people with the Ipad mini. The Ipad takes really nice pics. The thought of going bagless is very appealing but that would mean no Ipad. Thoughts????

Well, those words and a few others that I can think of :rolleyes1 :bitelip: :duck: ,

I love the idea of going bagless, but it will never happen for moi. I need my camera along, and let's not even talk about the other items I can't live without for an evening in the parks (comb, hairspray, lip gloss......). Are you going to have Memory Maker (if not as an individual purchase, as part of share?)

I know...not fit for public viewing

I'm pretty sure that I could fit my stuff in my own pockets plus DH's. If I knew the weather would be warm enough for shorts at night I've got a couple of pair with small cargo pockets....that would be ideal. DH has regular man cargo shorts with the pockets large enough to carry a small child.

|Thats great, enjoy the trip and the show. Wish I could experience the lights before they go out. FYI this is the last year of the Osbourne lights, so take it all in.

I guess I left that part out....we are only going now because it's the last time. This is a very big deal for me to be away from work in Nov/Dec....as in impossible. I could end up owing someone a pint of blood for this.

We are booked too for the same reason. When I heard the lights were ending I was so sad. Started checking flights. Air Canada had a seat sale and we got a great rate. Dvc was booked so we are in a Cars Suite at art of Animation. We are staying a week and I can hardly wait. As for Christmas things to do--check out the castle dream lights, see the deluxe resort holiday displays--grand Floridian has a giant gingerbread house--try lots of snacks. Sleigh ride at fort wilderness. Go see Santa and Mrs Claus and Santa goofy. Candlelight procession at Epcot. Enjoy the holiday treats around the world.

Sleigh ride at fort wilderness.

This one I have to wholeheartedly agree on. Though I think the price is *ridiculously* expensive for that particular activity, considering this is a couples trip during the holiday season........it would be a really fitting thing to do for the two of you :cloud9: (read: "soft and mushy" :cutie: ). It just sounds so darn romantic and timeless .... curled up under a blanket, holding hands, watching the stars..... (just remember to bring the mistletoe ;)).

Hang on here sister.....who's bringing to 'that' place now?????? :rotfl2:

We've been at WDW the last 3 Decembers & it is without doubt my favourite time of the year at the World! We have a February trip on the books for Leap Day, so we were going to pass on December this year - then came the announcement about the Osborne Lights...

Still torn about adding the trip - it's a heart/head internal argument. lol!

But... my brother & SIL have generously offered to have us stay with them at Vistana on their annual pre Christmas trip! (they've been owners at Vistana for over 20 years :))
When my girls were young, we spent many vacations at their timeshare with them & my nieces. It may be fun to go back to a place that holds so many special memories.
Head... Heart... Head... Heart...

decisions/decisions. ;)
