My mother and I went on the Holiday tour 11/13 and had a wonderful time. We looked all over for the gingerbread cookies they gave out but we could not find them anywhere. We even asked but still no cookies. :sad1:
Then DizMe said they found a combo gingerbread mix and mickey gingerbread man cookie cutter. I again have hope! :woohoo: This would be a perfect Christmas present for my mom. :santa:
So I patiently waited for DelivEARS to open only to find out they do not ship food. I got off the phones disappointed but still trying to figure out how to make this work. Then it hits me  I do not really need the mix the cookie cutter would do and I could make my own mix. So I call DelivEARS back and asked if I could buy the cookie cutter, they informed me it is only in the kit (which i expected). So I said I would like to buy the kit, you keep the gingerbread mix and just send me the cookie cutter (aren't I smart). :woohoo:
They said they could not do that , i asked again nicely and she said no that is not how they do it. I said I know it is not NORMAL, but I was wondering if you COULD??? No again.
So now I am bummed and still in need a great idea for my mother for Christmas.
Just wanted to vent . . . :snooty:

Did they give you a different treat instead? The tour description on the site talks about a sweet treat and beverage -- the kids are going to be super disappointed if there's no FOOD while they're waiting for the parade! Was the rest of the tour good?

I think she meant that she had the cookies on the tour, and then looked afterwards to see if she could find them anywhere else, and was unable to. I could be wrong, but that is my interpretation. I am sure cookies and hot chocolate will be provided for the tour.

Yes this is what I tried to say . . .

They give you gingerbread mickey cookies and hot coco in addition to some delicious pumpkin fudge on the tour.

The cookies are REALLY good much better then the gingerbread cookies at the blue ribbon bakery.

I recall seeing Mickey gingerbread cookie cutters at World of Disney last year during the holiday season. I believe they were being sold with an apron or a towel. I found the cutter and towel set at laughingplacestore.com (here is the picture) but it is no longer available. You could always try calling DelivEARS again and asking about this item.

Why not buy the darn kit? If you want it, an that is the only ay they sell it- then buy it and ship the whole thing.:confused3

The OP tried to have the whole package shipped, but they don't ship food. And then the attempt was made to buy the package but ship just the cookie cutter and they wouldn't do that, either. Hopefully one of the PPs' suggestions will work!

I'm so glad to hear they are serving the gingerbread mice on the tour!

As I understand it, the Disneyland (California restrictions) can't ship food products, but I hear that Disneyworld can. Might call there and see if they have it and can ship.

DisneylandPlanner, I am sorry you can't get your kit, but I don't think you should be disappointed in DelivEARS.

Their policy is they don't ship food. You are wanting a food item. I understand you don't want the mix, but...

If Macy's had the same policy and same item, I don't think you would expect Macy's shipping department to acquire the item, open it, ship half of it, dispose of the other half of it, and bill you.

What are they to do with the other half?
What happens when the cookie cutter isn't what you want and you want to return it?
What happens when 500 other people who read on a message board how wonderful DelivEARS was at shipping you JUST the cookie cutter call up and request the same?

I completely understand your disappointment in the cookie cutter not being sold separately, but to be "Totally Disappointed in DelivEARS" in this scenario may not be fair.

Maybe somewhere else sells the cookie cutter?

JMO.

Good luck finding a Mickey cookie cutter for your mom. I'm sure one is out there somewhere,
Dreams

Oh, I get it- I am sorry- I was reading it that she just wanted the cookie cutter alone, and did not want to deal with having the kit- I did not realize that they do not ship food products...

I just googled mickey gingerbreadman cookie cutter and found the mix and cookie cutter available on line,,www.cheapcookiecutters.com
$14.99..they same it is the same as the park mix..
ooh great find! They have the cookie cutter for 5.95$ I think I'll buy a few and add them to my jars of cookie mix :thumbsup2
ETA: I meant the regular heads not the gingerbread man :goodvibes

In my previous experiences with DelivEARS, all has been super so much so, that I have written in to management specifically to give them kudos. I don't normally do that, but the wonderful staff at DelivEARS provided superior service to us which I felt needed to be thanked for via messaging to Disneyland. I can see where there hands are tied to ship only the item as is specified, but am glad someone provided another link to just the product you needed. :)

I kind of tend to agree with Disney Dreams. It is an unfortunate and inconvenient situation, but DelivEARS is just following the policy. Anyway, it sounds as if all will be fine now, and the cookie cutter will be obtained.:)

What I am mainly curious about is the lack of cookies at DLR. Unless I misunderstood, there were no gingerbread men with ears to be found at the time the OP looked? I don't know if the cookies given on the tour are the same ones that are sold throughout the parks, but those cookies are all over - even in more places than I realized. The ones that I bought last year were chewy, soft, hefty, yummy, gingerbready goodness - with Mouse ears! I got mine at Marceline's in DTD. Now those same exact cookies that I got last year are also sold in the Market House (I just saw them last month when we were there), as well as at all the various candy stores and bakeries in DL and DCA. At least they were last year - I saw them repeatedly. In fact, it seemed like my friend and I saw those same cookies everywhere we went. I even saw some in the Arcade on Main St. last year! That is what was happening - a couple of DIS-ers were trying to buy the cookies from only one or two locations and they were sold out, but ended up getting them at a more obscure location that other people didn't think to look in. Of course, depending on when they were baked, some cookies may be fresher at some locations than others, but they were pretty pervasive in 2008. So if they are selling out everywhere this year, then I know to grab my cookies early in the day and stash them somewhere!

Hmmmm. I've been looking forward to those cookies of "chewy, soft, hefty, yummy, gingerbready goodness" ever since I first read your description, Sherry. Maybe we should start a thread specifically for locations of Gingerbread Cookie Goodness and where it can be found! I'm awfully glad I will be getting one on the Holiday Tour (2 weeks from today! :cool1:).

They have been in the glass cabinet in the center of the candy shop on Main Street the last 2 weeks during our visits.
