Totally confused - ? about renting points

I apologize upfront. I know I am asking you for your time without anything in return, but I really need some clarification.

I wanted to rent a reservation (points) for November 26 - December 2, 2006. I went on top to the points chart....went to points calculator....put in 1 bedroom, BW, standard. I came up with 131 points (165 points if I go with BC, WL or preferred BW).

Did I not do this right? A woman just told me (gasp, on another site) that I figured it wrong and would need 210 points minimum. What did I do wrong?

You probably didn't do anything wrong. If you are talking about arriving on 11/26 and checking out on 12/2, your calculations are right. If you are talking about staying on 12/2 and checking out on 12/3, her calculations are right.

BTW, that is going to be an exceptionally difficult time to get a ressie anywhere at DVC. I suspect most resorts have little or no availability during that period.

If you are talking about THIS year, that reservation is going to be almost impossible, since most STANDARD view BWV villas book up fast at the 11 month window, and that time frame is the most popular with DVC owners. Most resorts will have a problem with availability at this point for this year, and some like the smaller resorts and BWV standard will be impossible.

Yes, I have already run into that problem. I know that I will need to look for someone who already has a confirmed reservation to rent. Thanks for the heads up though.
