Total universal virgin need help

SO, after calling universal twice today and still not coming out with a package/ price that i'm happy with, I came to the DIS boards because I know you guys know all the tricks!

After reading a few posts I am looking at buying one annual pass to get the discount at RPH and free parking, park to park passes for everyone else, buying refillable mugs for drinks and we are going to skip the meal tickets.

After going back to universals site (which I am finding is very slow...) I can only find annual passes for florida residents.... we live in Texas, so is this a no go?

We book throught our AAA agent which we have found to be less expensive. Definitely stay on-site. You can walk to the park in only a few mintes, plus the express pass entrance is worth it. When we were there in the Spring, you could only purchase the refillable mugs if you got them with the meal plan. You can find some different types, although a bit more expensive at the drink carts.

Just an FYI - If you are staying on-site, your annual pass will not give you free parking at the hotel. So that is a cost that you will still incur and that might not make the annual pass worth it. I'm sure others have done the math.
