Well our anniversary trip for just DH and I, for 3 nights, has now evolved into a family trip for DH, DS17, DS14, and myself, for 5 nights. We are now staying at the Polynesian instead of the Wilderness Lodge, and our dates are Tuesday, July 5th through Sunday, July 10th.

For the first time ever, I am sitting here with a blank sheet of paper trying to figure out which parks to start at each day.

My problem is that I have never gone during 4th of July week, so I don't know what the best days for each park will be. Can anyone who's familiar with the park crowds and park hours for that week give me some advice??

So far, the only definite thing is that on Friday, July 8th, we will be having dinner at the Castle because that's our anniversary :)

Which days should I plan to start off at MK? Epcot? MGM? (Not sure we're even going to go to AK). I think I need to first decide which park to start at each day, then go from there and make some PSs.

We do want to visit AKL to have a meal at Boma, either breakfast/brunch or dinner. And we want to visit the WL to have a meal at Whispering Canyon, probably lunch or dinner.

Why am I have a mental block about this?? LOL

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated! :sunny:

I've never been there 4th of July week so I can't offer any tips, but have you considered subscribing to TGM? I think that his advice is most valuable during very busy holiday periods. We used TGM during Christmas and it really helped.

We used to go in the summer when I was younger and the crowds were killers!! I suggest that you try a tour planner but really I'm just bumping this back to the first page so that maybe you'll get some answers. :)

Are the EMHs posted for July yet? I would base my itenerary on those. The heat will be oppressive mid day. When we stayed at the Poly we went to MK first thing almost every morning since it was so close, then headed back to the resort late morning. We were able to do all our favorites that way without a lot of lines. Later in the afternoon we headed elsewhere. That seemed to work nicely. I believe at the time of year you're going the parks are open late anyway and if they have nighttime EMHs too you can go anywhere and stay late without the heat of the daytime. Avoiding MK on Saturdays seems to be the general consensus. Have a great trip! :wizard:

Thanks :) That's kind of what I was thinking; just pick a park, start out early, then head back to the resort midday once it gets brutally hot out :sunny:

I guess for the PSs I'll make, we'll just have to make sure we're at those particular parks for those times.

Saturday will be our last full day. Which park is good on a Saturday in July? Thanks again :)

I think I'd avoid MK on July 4th, based only on threads I've read on these boards. The park can reach capacity that day. I'd consider EPCOT. It seems like Epcot can absorb the crowds better.

I do not have any suggestions--but I do recommend Ohana's--we love going here--

I would just pick a park and go with the flow and have at least one PS a day--good luck
