ToT - how scary?

I witnessed a girl break her ankle on one of those slides when I was a kid! It was gross and scary..never happening for me lol

When I was a kid my dad went on a slide like that and had a blowout situation with his suit. The seams just split on both sides. That was traumatizing for a whole different reason. :scared::scared::scared:

You all are making me almost want to try the ride..I love the twilight zone and want to see the theming, I wish there was a baby version where they gently lower you down lol. I would have been ok wiht this when I was younger but drops bother me now....wonder why? I am fine with spinning. I've only done space mountain and that was fine but I have no desire to go again!

I am not a huge fan of Space Mountain. Nothing about the ride track bothers me in the least and it is kind of fun. The problem is how unbelievably rough that ride is. I swear the last time I was on it I was a bit sore from all the jarring.

The different perspectives are funny and so dramatically different:
1) it's not scary at all! Bring your babies!
2) it's terrifying! If you ride it you might be crazy!
1) it's scary - but in a fun way - but only in the build-up pre-drop portion. The drops are just fun!
4) it's scary -but in a fun way- but only in the random drop section. The build up is just slightly creepy fun!

My daughter is a firm #3 - she thought the build up and show were scary but worth it to get to the 'ride' part. I am a #4 who loves the mildly creepy Twilight Zone part but is terrified (in a good? way) during the actual drops. The randomness really adds to the fright factor for me, but I love it. I think the physical sensation is similar to the drops on a roller coaster, but there are somany in a row, where a roller coaster has curves and other stuff going on.

I'm in the back, right-hand side hanging on for dear life lol! It's actually quite tame, it's the anticipation that messes with my head.

My DS 9 at the time was traumatized after he rode it. He was very scared of elevators for a long time. We are going again in Nov and even though he is now 11 he refuses to ride it. My now 9 year old Dd didn't ride then but is excited to ride this time. I am on the fence of letting my 4 year old ride it. She says she wants too:) I am not a fan of drops either:( I ride it though.

Great picture!

Is there something to hold on to? That would make me feel better!

My daughter convinced me to go on with her when she was about 11, saying I was missing such a great disney experience. I hated the drops! But I can say I did it...
Good luck OP!

Is it age or having kids that makes some people lose their taste for thrills? A lot of my friends complain of this, all 35-45 and with kids

My then 7 year old LOVED this ride. She was terrified (no pun intended) before she even walked into the building and I had to talk her into getting on the elevator no less than 5 times. After the ride was over and before she even unsnapped her belt, she was calling for 2nds.
