TOT cm can make the ride

Title says it all. We have all liked TOT, but this trip decided we Love it after 2 very funny CMs. One telling a very nervous person to check their seatbelt as there was an issue with it earlier. Then says oh just hold on tight I'm sure you will be fine. Mumbles "oh I'm going to miss you most of all" loved him so funny! And another girl we had was also funny. Thank you CMs for taking that extra step!

CM can sure make rides. We got stuck on the Jungle Cruise all most 45 mintues. The CM was so good we never even noticed. One joke he told my daughter who is a softball play (she had a softball shirt on). "How come Cinderella never played softball" She always ran away from the ball. It took her a couple of minutes to get it (yes she is a blonde LOL) She had the whole boat laughing. So he kept right after her with the jokes. Even bringing her to the front. To let you know they had to come and pull the boat to the end.

Yeah, the CM can really elevate (no pun intended) the ride! We encountered a very tall CM that held the door silently as we entered the library. He was so still and silent that he almost seemed like a giant prop. You could tell he made very people uneasy, and as the doors closed, he took a step into the room (never breaking a smile), and the whole crowd gasped and took a step backwards!

Yup, CMs that love their job are awesome! I had an experience at HM that is hard to explain.... I was ahead of my friend and I was kind of skipping into the building, and the CM was hidden inside so I hadn't seen him until I entered the building. I screamed. My friend screamed, but only because I screamed. She'd thought I was just trying to scare her. She gets into the building and sees the CM and screams again. By this time I am literally on the floor of HM laughing. As we enter the stretching room, I stayed kind of close to the wall. He tells us to stay away from the walls, so we move in... I look around to see where the CM was and moved to the other side of my friend. Before the lights come on and he says to exit, he moves to right behind my friend so that he says that in her ear. She screams again, as do I! There was a poor little kid that was scared of the ride, so we kept telling him that it's okay, the ride was not scary, that man just scared us!

Unfortunately it can go the other way also. In May we had two castmembers spend the entire time up to the preshow talking about how his car had broken down and he had to take it to a mechanic and her talking about her boyfriends car doing the same thing. Kinda ruined the whole vibe until the boiler room.

This is one of the primary reasons why I chose ToT as my favorite attraction at WDW. The CM interaction is second only to Jungle Cruise, but the ride itself is simply better than JC.

Unfortunately it can go the other way also. In May we had two castmembers spend the entire time up to the preshow talking about how his car had broken down and he had to take it to a mechanic and her talking about her boyfriends car doing the same thing. Kinda ruined the whole vibe until the boiler room.

Oh yuck. So possible with anything. I wish people would change jobs if they don't like them! CMs, teachers, doctors, anything! If you don't enjoy what you're doing, move on and find something else!

That would be inexcusable behavior.

If you think I'm being harsh, consider that the CMs (especially those in these particular roles) are in the same category as stage actors.
Imagine if two actors on-stage broke character and started talking about their car repairs.

Thankfully, that was our third time on it that day and we had two previous runs with great CMs throughout. And a really nice interaction with a CM in the giftshop where my son finally convinced me to buy the bell hop bell that he has wanted for the last 7 years.

ToT who snuck up behind me andblew on my neck making me jump. He then proceeded to whisper things in my ear to freak me out.
He was pretty great.

He was pretty great.

I rode ToT six times this past trip. In one of the briefings the CM recited the spiel with Serling in the ear of a 15-16 year old girl. It seemed to freak her out a bit. He changed it ever so slightly to "this elevator travels directly to ... the gift shop."
