Is there a seat belt, or lap bar on ToT? Something to hang on to perhaps? I am trying to meet my 16yr son's dare to ride this darn thing.
I can do Bthunder and Splash, but totally white knuckled it on Mickey's big wheel. If I can do it, the bet says he has to have his picture taken with a princess. :rotfl:

I was terrifeid to ride ToT. But I went on it. They buckle you in and there are bars to grip on the sides. To be honest I know love this ride, and can not wiat to ride it next week. I am still terrified of Mickeys wheel of Horror.

I don't like Mickey's Fun Wheel either, ToT is much easier because it is faster. Close your eyes and it'll be over before you know it. My only complaint about the ride is that the handlebars are kind of awkward if your sitting next to a stranger, but most of the time, the other riders are fanatics who don't use the bars at all.

My hands started sweating just from reading your posts, so I don't think that I'm ready for it yet. Or ever. :)

But the idea of getting a photo of your teenage son with a princess is pretty big draw. I think that I'd find a way to do it for that.

Mickey's Fun Wheel (swinging cars) is much worse. But now I love both! :thumbsup2
Give TOT a try, it's really quick and I have a feeling you'll enjoy it. My dd was 8 on her first ride and fell in love with it, as did her grandma who gets motion sick(!). Now we ride it several times in a row and get some hilarious pictures to enjoy at home. :rotfl:

As has been said, there is a sturdy seat belt and as long as you don't sit on the end, their are handles to hold onto.

It is now my favorite ride!!! Enjoy

This last summer I watched alot of people take the exit before the ride. I find it psych's people out before they even get there, and you are pulled down not dropped I find the sensation different. I have jumped, freefall many times and it does not do thes same to my innards.

You can do it.

Jack

a 16 yo boy? A picture with a beautiful princess? And your thinking that this isn't what he secretly really wants??!! LOL

TOT looks way worst than it really is. The theming on the ride is so amazing and it's Disney at it's finest. Don't be afraid and just do it. It goes by really fast and who know you may jump right back in line like I did. Heck I have even seen 3 year olds do it :)

OK, you've got me there. He probably would secretly enjoy this (especially Jasmine) but he is a pretty shy guy and the uncomfortableness of the moment would give me chuckles for years to come.
Yep, I think you have all convinced me. I'm doin' it.
Mickey wouldn't build anything I couldn't handle.
Thanks everyone, for your words of encouragement.
ToT (and Jasmine), here we come!

WTG, you'll be fine.

Got to say I laugh during most of the TOT ride. :rotfl: I love it when I have my sunglasses attached on a string around my neck and during the ride they 'float'! Too fun!

You MUST post the Princess DS photo here . You should also get the TOT photo, too. That way you can show us both that you went on TOT and then that your DS held up his side of the bargain, too.

I was laughing on ToT too. Dh's hat got lose and was floating. I'm looking forward to going again. TV shows make it look worse that it is and teenage girls will scream on it just to be heard. You can do this!

I was sure I wouldn't like ToT and I was right. But I did ride it, twice, just to make sure. I certainly could do it again if it involved a dare like this.

Both photos show me clutching the mesh sides of the elevator in terror, so I guess this ride is aptly named.

I did love the themeing and the library was awesome.

My favorite ride...love the free-fall effect and yes, I scream all the way through too...hehehehe...I just got to where I can open my eyes for the pix, before that, it was always 'eyes closed'...you'll love it!!

My 6 yr old daughter has been on it many times with DH, and she finally convinced me to go on this past weekend! She promised she would hold my hand :P It was really freaky, but fun. The g-forces didn't get to me as much as California Screamin' did. I used to be a big ride enthusiast, just like my daughter. But the older I get, the harder it is for me.

Try it, it will be fun!

I'm not a fan of this one...It makes my stomach hurt just waiting to get on it. But dropping rides have never been my thing.

Okay, let me start out by saying this. Space Mountain makes me a little sick, BTMM makes me a little sick, California Screamin I can handle until the little up and down part at the end. That makes me a little sick.

That being said I wasn't worried about ToT. Being pulled down, going up, none of that bothered me. But once those doors shut and the first drop happened that right couldn't get over fast enough. I don't remember any part of the ride after the doors shut because I immediately had vomit in my throat.

When the ride ended and me and the boys walked out my wife and youngest son were there waiting. I had no idea where I was but was looking for anywhere to puke. Luckily I was able to hold it down but it pretty much took me the rest of the day to recover!
