ToT...can I do it?

It took me a long time to get comfortable on ToT. I always am holding on tightly to the handles on the seats.

But, once you get passed it, it's really a lot of fun and a big adrenaline rush.

Okay, let me start out by saying this. Space Mountain makes me a little sick, BTMM makes me a little sick, California Screamin I can handle until the little up and down part at the end. That makes me a little sick.

That being said I wasn't worried about ToT. Being pulled down, going up, none of that bothered me. But once those doors shut and the first drop happened that right couldn't get over fast enough. I don't remember any part of the ride after the doors shut because I immediately had vomit in my throat.

When the ride ended and me and the boys walked out my wife and youngest son were there waiting. I had no idea where I was but was looking for anywhere to puke. Luckily I was able to hold it down but it pretty much took me the rest of the day to recover!

WOW, sorry to hear that. We all are different individuals and tolerate experiences in different ways. Sounds like ToT is a skipper for you.

Thundergod, that sounds absolutely awful and exactly like how I would imagine feeling after riding it, so it's just totally on my skip list. I hate the free fall feeling on Splash (it just goes too long for me), but I absolutely love BTMR. I'm too much of a wuss to even try California Screamin' because I refuse to ride anything that goes upside down. :)

I'm heading to Anaheim with my best friend in about 20 days. She is EXTREMELY adventurous, and I've already told her that I will be plenty happy to sit and wait for her while she takes her life into her own hands. Or I will ride the Little Mermaid like seven times.

Both photos show me clutching the mesh sides of the elevator in terror, so I guess this ride is aptly named.

My boyfriend looked exactly like that when I got him to ride it. I felt bad for him, he really hated it but I was glad he tried it once instead of blindly hating it. It's funny because my mom who hates the feeling of falling loves it, she says she likes it because of how smooth the drops are, very Disney.

I guess I am a wuss compared to a lot of people :rotfl2: but I will preface this by saying that I do have some issues with heights. I am fine with any rides (Splash, SM, MM, BTMM) at DL but I went on ToT once and came off of the ride with a panic attack. It was just something about seeing how high we were and then the multiple drops that the ride entails. I also don't go onto Mickey's Fun Wheel of Death (again, height issues).

I suppose it just really is up to you and what you know your mind can handle. Disney knows that you couldn't get me on ToT again even if you paid me.

My DD just rode it for the first time on Sunday, two days before her 5th birthday. She LOVED it; it is now her favorite ride at CA (second only to BTMRR at the resort). I was sure she would hate it. Her older sister rode it once (at age 5) at HS and hasn't been willing to ride it again - and my youngest hated SM. But, she surprised me. :goodvibes

Funny enough I love California Screamin'. The bit at the end can make me a little woozy in my tummy but the upside down part is fun. I didn't think I would like RNRC in WDW but a friend convinced me to try it. It was so smooth I didn't realize we'd gone upside down until she told me at the end of the ride! I had avoided roller coasters for years because I couldn't handle them when I was a child. So the new ones being so smooth suprised me.
Still not a fan of the drop on SM though!
