I don't know if any of you have noticed Disney has posted more info and the fees for ToT 13K. It is now $85 early reg without park tickets. That is $20 more than last year. Only difference is a tech shirt($2 cost to Disney). Party goes to 2am. New pace requirement of 16 min/mile. No discounts for Cast Members/DVC'ers. This is a new Disney trend. I don't know if we will spend $170 for a 8 miler:confused3 Post race party increased $5:(

Robert I answered on your DisneyRunning.com.

I think we should try to do something about the 16 min per mile pace if we can. Since that will take it out of reach from a lot of our new athletes and/or their spouses.

Disney does listen to WISH and we need to express our opinions.

A quick question for people who make TOT an annual event. Is it usually held the last Sat. of October?

Does anyone know the "special" price for the hopper tickets (I can't access the Disney site from work -- got to talk to the IT guy about that). I am NOT asking for any code etc,. just price so I can decide if its worth just getting the hopper for a couple days and wait on a new annual pass. This will be a short trip for me and maybe there will be a WISH MNSSHP meet again that I can make it to this time.

Last year was the first year they had this race so its hard to tell if it will usually be held the last Sat of Oct but that is what it was last year and seems to be again this year.

That really "bites" that they raised the price so much - and not really giving us anymore - and an additional $5 for the party ticket is crazy - maybe for that $5 they can lower the "cash-only" price on drinks at the park that night. My husband enjoyed the party last year (and still brags that he was able to ride RnR 7 times in a row and even got to stay on without having to get off and go back in line) and I found the race very exciting and neat since it was a night (:confused3 I might feel that way since it was my first Disney race but still I think the night thing made it even neater!) and I am sure my husband will enjoy himself again going round and round on RnR. I just might have to wait awhile to sign up for this one - ugh that price is killing me (especially thinking about how much $ I already have out for Disney races :scared1: )

I don't know if anyone noticed but Disney is back to NOT offering transportation to your resort unless you book one of there special hotels(BWI, ASR, CBR). BWI:confused3 You just walk thus leaving only 2 resorts they have busses for. Same old **^*& again.

Bill: Disney states on Active "Theme Park Tickets:
Once your race registration is confirmed, you will have the opportunity to purchase specially priced 2, 3 & 4 Day Park Hoppers. Information will be included in your registration confirmation email. "

Do you think BWV people could get in on the BWI transportation? Maybe they plan to run some late night boats.

I'm disappointed with the 16 minute pace because my DH enjoyed doing this race and his pace is around 17 minute. An 13K is the perfect length for him so not sure what we plan to do. We are going to be at WDW for that week anyway so it will just be a matter of deciding to do the race. For the money I would almost prefer doing another Party of the Senses that night. At least I get food and alchol with my admission.

Wow, $85 and no DVC discount! We put our plans for Oct. on the back burner for awhile, but now we'll not be going for sure. Geez!

The pace of my DH was about a 17 mpm and I would love that at least.

Heck, the Penguin's race events are always an 18 mpm pace and if you need more they have an opportunity to step off early.

I'm more in favor truly of the 18mpm pace.

I guess they had enough of the front of the packers to fill the event so don't need to open to all. It was a nice party last year. DH and I will be off the cruise that day and will be in The World for the weekend anyway...

Man 85 dollars is steep for what you get. I have a feeling that Disney may start pricing themselves out of some of these races. :sad2: At that price people will stop coming back for future years. Even living close by, I'm not sure we will do it this year.

Bill

With knee surgery next week, I don't know I will be back to the 15-15:30 pace I am use to. So I think we aren't going to sign up and save the $170($50 more than last year :scared1: ) and use it for F&W as we planned to be at WDW anyway.

Also, remember last year in that if you didn't like the info wait 5 minutes and it would change. I would wait until about 85% full when they will hopefully know what is going on.

I'm just really sad that they are doing this. We do the races because of the fun we have with our wish buds. It will really suck if a lot of you decide not to do it because of their actions this year.

Sad Panda:hippie:

It will see if reg slows because of this and it being the second year.

If anyone rembers, we signed up and start was 9pm and party to 1am. Now 10pm and party to 2am.

I have to budget more closely now adays so $170 can do a lot. Don't forget the $6 cans of beer:eek:

Scott and I just registered for the TOT, we hope the after party is still on! At this point we are at BWV, next week I will try to extend our reservation (on DVC pts), and hopefully we will still be there.

Is there a thread to support the slower pace???? I agree that a slower pace would be nice for newer folks, It is all about doing not winning.

Looks like there are no corrals for this race as like last year.

Yes Scott there is a thread, it's titled "Race Orgainizers Please Listen".

It's important for us to let them know it's not just the people who need it that are supporting the relaxed pace but those that don't need it want it also.

I'm out. We we're thinking of extending our 10/19 - 10/25 trip at BCV to run, but we'll save ourselves for the 1/2 marathon (our fifth) on 1/10/09.
