TOT 13K questions

Hi all,

I'm new to the WISH boards but am getting ready to do my first Disney race. I have a few logistics questions for the TOT 13K.

1. Is there transportation to the packet pickup from all hotels/parks or only from "host" hotels.

2. If we want to go to MGM Saturday night until park closing, do they kick you out of the park and then let you back in around 9 or so? Or can you stay in the park until the race starts. If my husband isn't running but has a ticket to the party can he stay in the park or would he have to wait outside until the party starts?

1. Last year the packet pickup was at Dowtown Disney in one of clubs in Pleasure Island. So I assume people just used the regular WDW buses to get over there (we had a car and just drove over). Not sure if they are using the same venue for packet pickup this year or not.

2. Unless they change the course, the race actually starts in the parking lot of MGM, so you will have to exit the park to actually start the race. I'm not sure what they did about spectators last year as everyone in my party participated in the race.

Last year they had to clear EVERYONE out of the park before they would start the race. Which as I understand is one of the reasons it started later than scheduled.

According to Disney:

IMPORTANT! Race Transportation Information: Transportation to all race related activities is ONLY provided to and from the host hotels listed above. If you are not staying at one of the hotels listed above you will be responsible for your own transportation.

I would count on no transportation from any resort except the 3 host resorts. You can always go over to DHS and take WDW transportation over to WWoS. We did that last year for Minnie.

Which 3 resorts are the host resorts?

The 3 hotels are All Star Sports, Carribean Beach and BW Villas. The rates are pretty good too. We saved about $300 over regular rates.

When I made my ressie the person I talked to reinforced that transportation would be included in my rate from CBR just like marathon weekend she said. Here's hoping....

So there are buses from the parks to Wide World of Sports? That's perfect because we were planning on going from a park to the Wide World of Sports. We can wing it from there!
