They will let you book the cruise with your points assuming that you will have enough whenever the charts
are released (I think they came out maybe around March last year). The Tortola cruise is not one that you can compare apples to apples so in the meantime, you just have to look at the '08 charts for the same time period you're looking to go and then figure it will probably be in the same point range, but I would estimate a few higher than what's currently being charged for an Eastern in June of '08.
It's sort of a provisional reservation - and they will let you out of it if you end up not having enough points after the charts are released - I think the problem is if you have to bank or borrow points in order to book it and then you find out you don't have enough you're sorta left hanging with these points sitting in the wrong year. I don't think they let you put them back where they came from! So unless you're trying to book an SPH cabin or one of the "secret veranda" cabins or something that's in short supply, I would think you could wait until the charts are released. The schedules were just announced so there's plenty of time yet for most of the categories... The cruise itineraries came out Jan. 31 last year and we decided to wait on the
point charts before booking. I just felt safer doing it that way...and we were still able to snag one of SPH cabins!
