Wondering if it is good. I got a coupon for the birthday meal, but it is still really pricey even with that. We are thinking of going there, but then somebody said there is a Red Robin nearby! Is it worth it to go and spend the money?

We ate a few times at Tortilla Joe's years ago and were not thrilled with it--we do however really like the Tortilla Joe's Taqueria outside--good food and good value.

I do know others have eaten at Tortilla Joe's and really like it--so it's subjective and there will be mixed answers!

My DH and I go here and I don't feel its overpriced, and I can be "frugal". Sometimes we will share an appetizer and 1 meal.

we didn't like the food - i thought the price was on par with other restaurants in the area but did not care for the food

The food was okay and the price was not too bad. The price was great with the coupon. I'd certainly go back to TJs before eating another garbage pizza from Naples with the same coupon.

It is nothing special - we have eaten there twice and the only good thing was the Margarita - but even they were over priced.

I would not return.

We discovered Tortilla Joe's last trip and then ate there twice. We really enjoyed it and will eat there again in July. ;)

We enjoyed it when we used it for my birthday coupon. The table side guacamole was great, and my daughter enjoyed the taquitoes. I can't remember what DH ordered, but there were no complaints from our group.

I was doing a solo trip Feb 2013 when I decided to stop in and try TJ's around the 2 pm time.

I decided on the Mixed grill fajitas. I subs out the beans for extra grilled peppers and onions. I did decide the steak was my favorite meat. shrimp was 2nd, chicken was not even tried. The server brought me salsa and chips. I was offered extra guac with my meal since I did not want any sour cream. I know I sound like a picky eater.

My food was served very hot. I picked 2 corn and 2 flour tortillas -- I found the flour ones to be best for this dish. I had so much food left even with out placing any of the shrimp or chicken in a to go box that I ened up having a great late night dinner in the room. Husband and I are planning to go back there again this Sept.

Maybe eating later lunch is the trick. I had great service, Food was hot and good. Portions are so large that we can share and appy and a main.

I sure hope meal is as good up coming trip as it was when I was there solo.

We go every year when we go to Disney. DH loves the food and the prices are really not that bad. When I went in March for a girls trip, we ate there and I had the flat steak and it was one of the best steaks I have had.

I live in the southwest and get really good mexican food. I have tried (twice, thought maybe I caught them on a bad day) TJ's and would never go back. :worried: :( :sad2: :tink:

Tortilla Joe's is fine (your coupon is bonus) although always love Red Robin's from anywhere! Red Robin's is on Harbor Blvd literally next to The Crowne Plaza Hotel! We just walk a very SHORT distance then eat there whenever we stay at The Crowne Plaza!

It's typical sit down Mexican restaurant food.

Not gonna win 5 stars, but a hell of a lot better than Taco Bell.

We were disappointed in it. I found it bland but lots of people seem to see to like it. I saw tons of "Love it" reviews on Trip advisor among my "Just OK" one.

I'm with the others that say the food is okay but certainly overpriced. We've been there twice, and after our most recent trip we decided that we would much rather try somewhere else next time and probably wouldn't be back.

I do have to say that the margaritas were pretty good though.

I'm not a fan. I love Mexican food, in fact if I only ate Mexican food for the rest of my life I'd be OK with that. But I do not enjoy TJ's. The food was good, the prices were OK (average for DTD really) but the next day I had the worst "after effects" if you get my meaning, the kids weren't affected but DBF and I both spent too much time in the bathroom and had to carry Pepto around with us. Not fun, we tried twice, we won't try again.
