Me, DH, DS9 and DD7 would like to go for one of these for supper. I will have a $30 off coupon for Tortilla Joe's and I love mexican, the kids not so much, but can have the kids nuggets or we could forgo the coupon and go to Rain Forest Cafe which has a much more diverse menu and while I haven't been to this one, the ones I have been to have a great atmosphere for kids. Which one should I go to???
As I was typing, I kind of think I just answered my own question, but any advice would be welcome.

We love both. I agree a general family will have many more options at RFC. But TJ's is good too. :)

I would definitely go with RFC...if the kids dont like mexican food then whats the point???:confused3..i think you all would enjoy RFC much better:goodvibes..just an FYI...if you are going to make an ADR you have to call directly to the restaurant not disney dining..the number is (714) 772-0413:goodvibes

I prefer Tortilla Jo's, but based on your information, your family would probably prefer Rainforest.

Thanks for that about reservations. Are we likely to need one on a Saturday? Probably a stupid question.lol I don't know that we really want to have to have a res as that can make your park day a little more stressful.
The kids do like Mexican, in Mexico, but they never seem really fond of it here. Guess we should go to the RFC. If we didn't have a res, any idea how long the waits can get in Sep. on a Sat? Can we put our name down and then go walk around DTD for while and comeback closer to our time? Obviously we would have to be there for when they called our name, but could we wander a bit? I guess one could always take the kids and the other wait and switch out?
Thanks for the helpful info.

Waits on a Saturday, depending on the time of day can be anywhere from 45 mins to 2 hours. You could always hit it at a time when there is a minimal wait and luck out.

Malcon is right...and with the fact that RFC is in DTD and not in the parks, you will have people from all over the OC in general and LB area who come just to shop and have dinner so if you are going I would def. make an ADR...if you are in DL at the time you can always hop over to DTD on the monorail...

Go online and get a membership for Rainforest. It is $10, but you will get that back with 10% off your bill and free appetizer and priority seating. But, I prefer the food at Tortillas. I do not like Rainforest food even though I am a member.

oh man they make the best lettuce wraps and serve it with this AWESOME peanut sauce...oh so good...i guess living in CA, theres a mexican taqueria or restaurant at every corner ...I dont eat mexican anything at DL (except at cove bar cause they have lobster nachos lol)...

Well I will have to try the lettuce wraps. I am originally from Tx and now live in SF so know good Mexican. And you are right, stay away from Mex at theme parks...but I still prefer it to RFC..

None of us liked Tortilla Jo's so I would say RFC. But honestly, of all the places in DTD, those are my two least favorites.

Is that 10 dollars a one time charge or is It recurring?

Sorry meant to post this quote for the $10 question.

The $30 off coupon can also be used at naples, catal and uva bar in DTD.
I'm assuming its the $30 off coupon from the patina group restaurants.

The $10 was one time, but you have to eat there 1x a year for it to stay valid. It recently changed to Landry's club, but I think the perks are the same. We got it just for DL so we have a fallback plan if we forget reservations and don't want a 2 hr wait. As members, they get you in quicker.

That is probably it. Wow, went up a lot since they changed. They automatically transferred me so I didn't re-register.

I'd pick Tortilla Joes every single time. Not everything there is great, but nearly everything at RFC is sub-par and over-priced.

I have to agree. There are a few items I like at Rainforest, but I really prefer Tortilla Jo's. Between the balloon hats for the kids and the Divas, it's my favorite place outside of DL/DCA.
