Hello ... we are flying out of Toronto and need a hotel for the night before we go. Anyone have any recommendations? We usually stay at Airport Marriott, but I know they offer 8 nights of free parking and we need 10 ... they have a reliable shuttle though. We previously used Fairfield and the shuttle wasn't so reliable, but may have improved since I don't know. Anyways ... wanted to know any places others have stayed. We like a pool for the kids to play around in and tire themselves out!!

Thanks ...
Kerri

I always stay at the Sheraton Terminal 3 - it offers 14 days of free parking. I am paying $199 the day before the March Break rush (call the 1888 phone number and ask for the park and fly rate). Staying right at the airport is very, very easy!!!

The Hilton does not have a pool. The doubletree has an amazing pool with big water slides and a children's indoor play area - it's fun. We usually stay at the Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Select - both have pools and are clean and affordable. Most of these hotels are only going to be able to give you a rate that includes a week of parking but they will have a daily rate after that so you will have to add the daily rate. I have found the shuttle service fairly reliable with all of them.

Does the Doubletree have a good reliable shuttle? I was looking at their website and they offer 14 days of free parking which isn't bad. I checked out the Sheraton Gateway and it was $159 for 8 nights of parking. I don't know how much extra it is for the two nights extra we need.

There are just so many around, it is hard to figure out what is closest and what is nice and clean (VERY important to me!)

Ask at the Sheraton Getway about the extra days. It is so convenient walking to the terminal. Hotel had a nice pool and the rooms were super clean and they had the sweet sleeper beds (ahh!). It is worth the extra for the convenience.

Last year we stayed at the BW which is now a NOVETEl and they had free parking for up to 3 weeks. I would check them out. Novetel.
Definitely do not stay at the best western. They were a way out on Dixie road and the hotel was not nice the shuttle was like a ride in Jamaica and the parking isn't nice....didn't seem very safe at all.
The Holiday Inn express and the Marriot seemed very close to me I will stay at one of them next time or the Novatel.

We have stayed at the Doubletree many times over the past 10 or more years. It has gone down in maintenance, to a point where last time we moved out to the Marriott up the street. It was filthy, the carpets were dirty, the hot tubs were dirty. Hairs in the bathtub, water leaking down from the sink, yuck!

If it is important, they have lifeguards for the kids and waterslides. Their shuttle is as good as an other of the hotels down there.

Thanks for telling me that about Double Tree as it was one I was considering, but I did read another unfavourable review on expedia about them too. Since we are going longer than the week, we need 10 nights of parking. Therefore we pay extra to park for the extra two nights. We usually stay at the Marriott Airport, but they offer double beds and when you have a kid that likes to go horizontal in the bed (not fun ;) ) ... their shuttle is very reliable as well. We tried Fairfield a couple of years ago and they have a beautiful hotel, but we didn't get picked up after calling twice from the phone. I'd prefer a shuttle that goes by on a frequent time rather than having to call someone again, although maybe it is better now ... who knows. I did look into the Sheraton in the airport and got a rate of 119, but then with parking for 10 nights it would be 199 ... that is steep. Marriott can give us 155 ... I would probably try the Marriott, but I know my parents won't want to pay that much ... they don't want to take airport limo from home, which I'd like to try ... so we need a hotel in T.O.

We have lately been staying at the Renissance, which is between the Marriott and the Doubletree. Nice beds, clean and quite new. Also quiet pool and reliable shuttle service, that is only for this hotel, didn't seem to have any other stops.

One more vote for the Sheraton Gateway. Super convenient with the parking and being right beside the terminal!! Our kids loved it because we could get a room on the airport side so they could watch the planes come in and out. There was no extra noise either.

Also if you are an SPG member you'll gain points on your stay. I'm an SPG gold member and the last time we stayed there we were automatially upgraded to a club room with free cont. breakfast in the club lounge. It was a nice touch as I totally forgot about that perk.
