We have reservation at Liberty Tree at 7:20 on Dec 17, but the Spectromagic Parade starts at 7 that day! :scared1: This would be our only opportunity to see the parade because they aren't having it on Dec 19th because of MVMCP (we're going to that, but our DS will be back in the room for the night) so this would be the only parade he would get to see. DS will only be 15 months when we go, so do you think we should go to the parade or do the character dinner? I'm not sure which one he would enjoy more. I think the parade, but we've never been to WDW before so we've never had a character dinner to judge it against.... Please help me figure this out!:worship:

My kids loved the parades at that age. Characters meals were fun, but if I had to choose, I would pick the parade. Good-Luck and have fun what ever you decide :)

Spectro goes right past the LTT, I think he would like the parade more, especially only being 15 months, the lights and music will fascinate him

I agree that the lights and music from the parade will probably be fascinating for your little one. It's very possible the parade will have passed by LTT by your ADR time so you might get to enjoy both! :goodvibes

But here's something to think about: LTT is doing away with the characters starting in January 2009. :sad1: My family, and many friends, have always enjoyed the character dinner there. :thumbsup2 You would be experiencing something that will soon be a "remember when?"

do the parade....
do you have any other character meals planned?
Chef Mickey will have many of the same characters and an easy place to eat with little ones...

Our son was 15 months when we went to Disney last year. He LOVED spectromagic! It's a tough one since LTT is losing its characters in the new year. I can't say which I would do (no big help here, I know!). We are doing LTT dinner this year for the 1st time. Our son will be 27 months during the trip and so I know he is really into characters now, more than he was at 15 months! If your litle guy isn't really into characters much (and you have a few character meals set up already), then I might be inclined to do the parade! Good luck with your decision!

Spectromagic is my favorite thing at WDW...:lovestruc I would definitely do that before ANY meal.

Get a curbside seat, and your son will get to see a bunch of characters there instead of sitting at a table at LTT.

As an aside, at that age, you may run into him being scared of the characters - they're huge in "real life"

:goodvibes Spectromagic parade-he will love the lights colors and characters. It's wonderful.

Definately do the parade! I know that Liberty Tree will not have caracters soon, but your 15 mo. old will like the parade better. We just came back from the world, and the Liberty Tree was not very good. So much so, that I cancelled our reservation for Dec. Enjoy the Parade!

1) Do the parade.
2) Sure, the parade passes LTT.
3) But, the prade starts near Town Hall.
4) It will take 15-minuites to get to you.
5) So, you will miss most or all of it to make the 7:20pm ADR.
6) You can eat anywhere, but the parade is not to be missed.

Okay, this is what I would do, maybe not best thing, but I would try to do a bit of both. First I'd watch the parade right outside LTT. Then, I'd probably send one of us in to check in at the desk, probably a few minutes after our ressie. They usually do have a 20 min grace period, or so I've been told by other dissers, though have never tested it. Hopefully, they are just a bit behind in their seatings of guests and you could watch a bit more parade. Or maybe they would work with you on it if you explained dilemma. That way you could do some parade and the dinner with characters. Especially with the characters leaving LTT soon. Idk, just a thought on how I might try to do it, and if things worked just right. Good Luck!!:goodvibes

Minnie is right. That is what I would do.
You could ask for a seat by the window, but it is iffy there and the glass is old-style and more difficult to see through.
Have a great time!
