Just in case you missed it in the title, this is a spoiler... a BIG SPOILER... and I don't want anyone to read this by mistake.

******BIG SPOILER ALERT******

I'm hoping someone can help me (someone British, maybe?)

I have a "friend" that told me that the 456 kill Ianto. Tell me it's not true. Or at least tell me that Jack/Torchwood/The Doctor do something to bring him back. I LOVE Ianto! He's so straight-laced (no pun intended!). He's the perfect foil for Jack and I will mourn his passing. PLEASE tell me he'll be back? I know that Russell Davies has no qualms about killing off main characters, but does he really have to take Ianto - so soon after Owen and Tosh? Does anyone know the plan for the next series? There is a next series, right?

<sob> :guilty: tell me it isn't so! :guilty:<sob>

I've seen the death scene, so yes he does die. Don't know about a resurection. I keep meaning to watch all the episodes but I haven't got around to it yet. (yes I know it's only starting here in America, but I've got connections and have a copy of the BBC1 episodes, so no comercials and no cutting) I will buy the DVD when it comes out, but I just hate watching BBC AMerica's editing.

Thanks for the response.

I generally try to avoid spoilers, but this "friend" thinks it's funny to look stuff up on the internet and share. He enjoys fake spoilers almost as much as the real thing, so I was hoping this was a fake one. He insisted it was real though, so I had to check. The checking part is why I dont' want to know them! I'd rather wonder "what happens" than wonder "does x happen?" KWIM? I really try to avoid this guy, but he hunted me down knowing I was anxiously awaiting the start of TW.

I'm really sad that Ianto had to die. It will probably be heartbreaking too. Poor Jack never seems to get a break, and RD sure can pull the heartstrings!

I've thought from the beginning that the whole show is pretty Gwen-centric, that it will showcase her growth, but I sure was rooting for Ianto!

<sigh> oh well... I guess Jack will just have to be enough eye candy.

BTW - since you have connections, have you seen the new Doctor yet? Do you like him? I loved #9, and was appalled when David Tennett showed up during the regeneration, but he grew on me too. I'm hopeful that #11 will be as good to me as #9 and 10 were. What are your thoughts on it?

Photos were released yesterday of him and the new companion filming. They first said it was episode one but now they think it'll be episode two. He's young, and so is she. Her name will be Amy Pond(?) if I'm remembering correctly. He's going for the scholarly look, reminisant of the middle doctors. On a side note the girl playing the new compainion is the daughter of Dr #5.(?) Peter Davidson.

I was a big fan of #10. My nephews refer to 9 as the mad doctor and 10 as the funny doctor. I have to agree. I much like a more jovial Doctor. I am holding opinions since I think I won't like something and I end up loving it. Darn Russell T.

Your nephew had a really good description. We always said #9 would beat his way out of anything, while #10 would talk his way out of anything. #10 was certainly happier, but I preferred the look of #9. I finally decided it was ok that I like them both. #11 does look young - but maybe that means he'll stick around a bit longer than the last two. The companion looks interesting. I'm so hoping this series will be as enjoyable as the others. I loved Dr Who when I was a kid, and I love it even more now. I can't wait for it to start!

The next special won't air in Britian until November, then the Christmas special and then the last with the regeneration should be in early spring.

Oh but the Children in Need mini episode should be outstanding. All 10 doctors (some in aired footage) will make an appearence, at least that is what is in the rumor mill saying.
