Topper for Sofa Bed?

I would like to hear from those who bring a memory foam or egg crate topper or similar to use on top of the pull out sofa beds at the resorts. We have used the sofas before and it has been so-so (not terrible but not fabulous), but I wondered if it would be more comfortable with some sort of topper? We are driving, so luggage space is not a big deal.

What have you used? Did it increase the comfort factor? Would you bring it again? Did you fold the bed up each day to use as a couch or just leave it made up as a bed? If you used the couch during the day, where did you store the topper?

We are staying at Boardwalk Villas for the first time, 1 bedroom. One adult will be using the sofa bed.

Looking forward to hearing about your experiences with this.

Well, never used a topper. Our kids loved sofa beds and never had a problem. Adults usually end up in traction after a night on one. I can only assume anything other than broken glass would make it more comfortable - so yeah, I'd pack that topper if room is not a problem. If you don't end up using it, just put it back in the trunk. We usually left the sofa bed as a bed during the day because we'd come back and let the kids take a nap. But now we tend to put them back to a sofa to give us more room.

We brought a topper for the sofa bed. It made a big difference in comfort. Sometimes we folded it in the sofa, sometimes we left it as a bed. It wasn't a problem at all and our DD slept so much better with it.

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm so happy to hear the topper really increased the comfort factor. This info helps a lot.

When we stayed at BWV (DCV point rental for a studio) we brought an egg crate topper for DD21, who "won" the sofa bed. She didn't use it the first 2 nights but after that said it was MUCH more comfortable with the egg crate. We fly, so I bought a space bag at Dollar Tree for getting the egg crate to Florida in our luggage. We left it there (I'd bought it for $2 at the local university yard sale, so no big loss, LOL!) as I had trouble compressing it to get it into our luggage. I could have managed, but it really didn't seem worth it!
