Top US Cities to Visit

Hmmmm.....I have been to all on the list. I didn't find Santa Fe that exciting, but some do.

Would you also include places/monuments in that or is this purely cities?

I would add:

Seattle
Las Vegas
Los Angeles

would you agree??

San Francisco
Charleston, SC
New York City
Santa Fe, NM
Chicago
Carmel, CA
Honolulu, Oahu
Savannah, GA
San Diego
Sedona, AZ

New Orleans
Washington DC
Boston
NYC
San Antonio

shoud be added to the list

San Francisco
Charleston, SC
New York City
Santa Fe, NM
Chicago
Carmel, CA
Honolulu, Oahu
Savannah, GA
San Diego
Sedona, AZ

I live right outside Washington, D.C. and I'm not quite sure why it isn't on the list. Sante Fe, NM made it, but the nation's capital was left out?

We've been to:
San Francisco
Charleston, SC
Honolulu, Hawaii (lived there for 7 years)
Savannah, GA (lived there for 4 years)
San Diego
Carmel, CA

We are headed to NYC in the next year and are about to start planning that since we only live 4 hrs away. We really want to visit Boston, as well. Don't really have much interest in Chicago, NM or AZ at the moment, but maybe someday.

I'd remove Carmel and Charleston and replacing them with Boston and Washington. Actually, I'd probably replace either Santa Fe or Sedona with New Orleans. Sedona is in my personal top places to visit, but I don't think it's everyone's cup of tea.

Any list that does not have Washington in the top ten is meaningless. It should be a requirement to see the Nation's Capital.

I also would add Los Angeles. We were there in Feb. and we were so surprised at how much there was to do and how much we liked it. We actually liked it better than San Diego, which usually gets all the praise. San Diego has "tourist attractions" like SeaWorld, the Zoo, and Legoland, but in terms of an urban destination, not as impressive as we'd hoped.

New York City between Thanksgiving and Christmas is magical.

I've never been to NYC, and to be honest have never felt any desire to go until recenty. What makes it magical at that time of year. I'm guessing it's all the Christmas displays, but can you give some examples. I may have to check it out. Thanks.

personally I would drop San Fransico (yuck) add Santa Barbara and Portland one of the most livable cities in this nation.
