Top Three w/ a Toddler?

So, we plan on going in October when free dining is (hopefully) offered, and we will be sticking with the QSDP that is offered with Pop Century. We would like to make three ADR's and will pay out of pocket. The first will be for my son's 2nd birthday dinner at Chef Mickey. For the other two, we are thinking Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex. Do you think those will be the best choices for us since we have a toddler? I've never been to any restaurants at WDW so I am a newbie at this. Thanks!

I think Play n Dine @ Hollywood & Vine at DHS & Dinner with Pooh & Friends @ Crystal Palace in MK would be good choices for you if you are looking for more character meals.

I honestly wouldnt do BOTH TRex & Rainforest. Theyre both very similar restaurants with similar menus. I'd pick one, but not both. I'd do TRex, unless they scare easily?? Rainforest you can get anywhere. Trex is more unique.

I think Crystal Palace is a good place for toddlers.

Your toddler might like the characters at Hollywood & Vine, but im not sure about the food. i've never been, but I read alot of negative reviews. Checkout the reviews on allears.net.

Yes, Chef Mickeys, TRex & Crystal Palace are all great choices for a toddler. Tip: i'd go with breakfast for CM's. Dinner food isnt the best, breakfast isnt the greatest either, but its ok....and definitely way better than dinner!

Oh, okay, we are flying in on Saturday, and that is the day of his birthday so I wanted to reserve something special for dinner and to have a little cake brought out to sing to him. Since Chef Mickey has way better breakfast, what restaurant would you recommend for his birthday dinner? Thank you!

I just wanted to throw in my vote for the Play N Dine at Hollywood & Vine at DHS. We've done this 3 times with my little guy...it's fantastic!
Chef Mickey and Crystal Palace are also favorites for us. We also did the breakfast at Cape May in September and that was nice too!

We went to WDW last month with a two year old. We had great food and lots of fun at the Play and Dine breakfast. Even my 8yo and 7yo liked it. The kids only cared about the Mickey Waffles and DH said he was almost stabbed with a fork over the corned beef on the buffet. I loved the cheesy hashbrowns. We all went back for seconds and the kids even had ice cream...for breakfast desert. We also enjoyed Tuskey House...though DH said he doesn't have to go again. Next time we go I will try Cape May for breakfast...same characters as Chef Mickeys...but better food from what I've read. Good Luck!

WE love play and dine at Hollywood and Vine. I thought breakfast was better than lunch. It's a lot of fun! For me, character buffet meals work best for our young kids. They also ate well at Cape May dinner.

While I love the concepts, I know a lot of children are terrified of T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe...for that reason, I'd look at Crystal Palace and Hollywood & Vine. You're already doing Chef Mickey's so it kind of rounds out the character experience. Pooh & Friends at Crystal Palace is our top fave breakfast. We like to do it pre-park opening, but I have friends who enjoy late breakfast...either way...it's a must do for us. We've done the Play & Dine breakfast at Hollywood & Vine once and it was awesome. The food was very good and since it's not as popular...we got so much attention from the characters. The characters are also very toddler friendly- i.e. the preschool set can really embrace the Playhouse Disney characters. We had an 8:05a adr there- had enough time for multiple trips to the buffet, had the characters come by twice, had time for our girls to dance with the CMs for two segments, and got out in time to make the run for TSMM fastpasses. Also, the service at Crystal Palace and Hollywood and Vine have been excellent on our visits.

Chef Mickey dinner is fine we have eaten there many times. I hate to pay $35 for breakfast so I think lunch or dinner you get more for your money. CP is good for breakfast or dinner. We are doing H&V and Garden Grill in Epcot this year with my 3 yr old GS. We did CM and CP last Jan and he loved them both but like CM better.
