Top Three Bottom of the Pit Restraunts

I only have two, and one isn't around anymore.

Cantina de San Angel - This place gave Mexican food a bad name. I'm glad they're re-doing it, hopefully they change the food quality.

Hollywood & Vine (dinner buffet) - terrible, terrible food.

worst: rose & crown (disgusting, cold food, that made an entire party of 7 sick)
sunshine seasonings and H&V are not great, but R&C is a horrible, definately no way, EVER again:sick:

The only place we've eaten that we would 100% for sure not ever go back to again was Boatwrights at POR. The food and service were both terrible when we went there.

I think all the restaurants we have tried on multiple visits were at least decent, but maybe that is because I read lots of reviews and follow the advice given.

Based on my readings, not experience, I would stay away from:

Hollywood and Vine

San Angel Inn

Tony's Town Square

#1 Tutto Italia

#2 Tutto Italia

#3 Tutto Italia

Yes, I detest Tutto THAT much. LOL

Incredibly high prices for incredibly awful food. Tried it more than once and it was the same both times.

If I were to add one more it would be Wolfgang Pucks Downtown. Talk about disappointing after so many good reviews. It was just food but nothing like it should have been, coming from WP.

I hope your not basing your reservations on what other people's opinions are...everyone is different and has different experiences. I can personally say that there is not one place that I've been to that I would tell someone to Never try. My family loved Tutto and WPE and Coral Reef...all favorites of ours but to some they were the worst. If I wouldve listened to some of the opinions on the boards I would have missed some great meals in My opinion. Try what sounds good to you! :thumbsup2

There are certainly restaurants we enjoy more than others, but there is only one that I genuinely did not enjoy at all and to which I will not return, and that is Whispering Canyon Cafe. The food was just terrible, our server was extremely odd (not bad, just odd, and not in a way that made me think it was a part of the "show schtick"), and the "show schtick" was tired (and they seemed to be in full swing that night). Just not a good fit for our family.

The only other place I did not enjoy enough to not return was the Beach Club Marketplace, mainly because on both occasions they have been unable to fully melt my hot sandwich, and there's nothing worse than a melted ham and cheese that is cold and unmelted in the center.

Wow! It's funny to see some that some of our favorites are on the bottom of some people's lists! I've never had a bad meal at Tony's (but then again, I typically just get the spaghetti & meatballs -- kinda hard to mess that up)

The only place that I definately won't be going back to is

Wolfgang Puck Cafe (my DH & I got VIOLENTLY SICK the last time we ate there - and this was one of our "must do's" for every trip).

just thinking about it makes me feel ill.

Other than that, I've had some "not-so-great" meals at other places, but nothing that would prevent my from giving it another try.

I want to defend Tony's. We were there in Feburary of 2010 and it was great. I had the ribs with a summer squash puree and it was really, really good.

My top three:
1. California Grill: expensive, but mostly good. I didn't like the pork tenderlion, but loved the Sweet Potato-Ricotta Tortelloni.
2. Boma: good food, great variety, good atmosphere.
3 (tie). Tangierine Cafe: best counter service. The CousCous Salad is the best I have ever had.
3 (tie). Tony's. Like I said, the ribs with summer squash puree was great. My wife loved her risotto.

Bottom three:
1. Hollywood and Vine: boring and bland.
2. Crystal Palace: boring and bland. Good desserts though.
3. Rainforrest Cafe at AK: the place was half empty and my party of 3 waited 45 minutes for our food. And the food was nothing special.

Oh my gosh, I forgot to mention how great Sanaa is. I would replace Tony's with Sanaa in my list.

So, my top 3:
California Grill
Sanaa
Boma

Top CS:
Tangierine Cafe

1. Chef Mickey's, there was food dropped, spilled and splattered all over the buffet area and very little of it was cleaned up while we were there. The food was cold or barely warm at best. There were empty spots all over the buffet and most of them were never refilled. Our server was somewhat rude and inattentive. The characters interaction was very rushed and then Mickey flat out skipped us. It took two requests for him to finally be escorted over so we could see him.

2. Yak and Yeti, our server was FABULOUS, the restaurant was nice but the food was horrible. The filling for the lettuce wraps was mush, DH's burger was inedible, my beef and broccoli was dry and DD's lo mien was so overpowered with onions that she could not eat it.

3. Kona, how on earth you mess up breakfast is beyond me but they managed to do it and then our server was rude and inattentive to boot. Had we not been on a tight schedule and leaving for home, we would have sent all 4 of our meals back.

1. Mama Melrose - I got ill after eating there, we decided to try it again the next trip and dh got ill... food isn't all that either.
2. O'hana - don't get the hype about this breakfast... the only 'wow' thing was the juice.
3. Coral Reef - view was ok, menu lacked variety and food was just ok.

(I just posted this on another thread, went back to edit {replace wolfgang puck with coral reef} and it was locked becuase this thread was open!)

I think our bottom three would be:

1. 'Ohana - food was not good, service was poor. The dinner was drastically over priced. No refills on the drinks. The "entertainment" consisted of an ear splitting ukelele.

2. Whispering Canyon Cafe - another highly overrated place. The "antics" were not cute in our opinon. The food was not good either.

3. Any of the pizza places - Toy Story Pizza Planet, Pizzafari, Pinnochio Village Haus - universally bad pizza.

technically speaking, it's not a restaurant, but I tried the custom cake and I wouldn't do that again. It was for my friend's birthday, and he's always wanted one, and while it looked amazing, it was really expensive and the cake itself had waaaay too much liquor in it. I could've set that thing on fire and burned down the Beach Club. It was good to do, though.

Tony's Town Square---We were stuck in the back corner at what looked like a waitress break station where we were swarmed with flies..oh and the food was terrible.

Coral Reef---I'm from cape cod and their seafood was horrendous and OVER PRICED. The waitstaff was NOT good and the kids didn't like anything on the menu.

Norway Restaurant---granted I went in 1988, but the horror of a platter filled with a variety of 'fishes from all over the country' will forever turn my stomach!

:)

For us

H&V
Crystal Palace
San Angel ( hate this b/c it use to be really good and I LOVE the ambiance)

Also not real crazy about CR, food is so so and service is sooooo slowwww plus its loud as heck in there..

The #1 slot for worst restaurant at Disney for me is the San Angel Inn. I ate there when I was about 12 and loved the ambiance. Even then I remember the food being just OK but getting to sit along the river that the ride goes through was spectacular. Against my better judgment, I took my DBF there for his first trip to Disney World ever and thought we would have a similar experience. I'm not a picky person and it takes a lot for me to leave a restaurant. Service was fine but our appetizer was SO disgusting that we sent it back. We thought it may have been a fluke but then both our entrees were just as horrific. We actually sent both back and asked if it would be OK for us to leave. We still left our server a tip because we felt bad but YUCK. I am so glad they are redoing the place but I will still be apprehensive to try the new one. :confused3

After that experience, there's no other restaurant that has disgusted me quite as much. CP isn't all that great, but I love the Winnie the Pooh characters and the windows in the restaurant.

PS I hate turkey legs!! There's just too much fat IMO.

There is only one we've eaten at and won't return to - Yak and Yeti. It was the worst (Disney) service we've ever had and the food was only OK, but it was very new at the time and could have been a fluke.

I'll play!

I think the worst meal we had was at WCC. We were told there was a lot of interaction with the wait staff. Well our service was terrible and our waiter was just a jerk. The food was just OK, we got the skillet - it tasted like the same food available at HDDR and Trail's End.

I didn't care much for Sci Fi, the food was OK but I didn't like the atmosphere.

Rainforest Cafe is way overpriced. JMO of course!
