Top Ten restaurants!!!!!!!!!!!

I will include both sit-down and counter service. Hope that's ok.

Sit-Downs:
1. 'Ohana - my absolute favorite. Great food, great atmosphere, lots of fun!

2. Kona Cafe - love the desserts and breakfast here, especially.

3. Crystal Palace (we've only had dinner here) - great buffet selection and great character interaction.

4. 1900 Park Fare - we've done breakfast and dinner and both were outstanding. Great food, great character interaction, great location!

5. Boma - we love this place for dinner. We especially like all the unique and different food options.

6. Le Cellier - we ate here on our honeymoon in 2000 and loved it. It's time we returned! Great service and food.

7. Marrakesh - our tastes tend to lean toward the exotic and we just loved this restaurant. Lots of variety and great entertainment.

8. The Brown Derby - we've eaten here twice and haven't been disappointed. I'm just not wild about the decor, but the food has always been great.

9. Chef Mickey's - I like it better for breakfast, but there's always lots of food and great character interaction!

Counter-Service:
1. Pecos Bill in the MK - great toppings bar and great burgers!

2. Casey's Corner - when you've got to have a hot dog, this is the place to go!

3. Tusker House in AK - great food. Not your typical counter-service eatery.

4. Flame Tree BBQ in AK - great BBQ. Lots of food and very filling.

5. ABC Commissary in MGM - good food - not just burgers.

6. Mara - AKL's food court - amazing selection and this is by far the biggest and best food court at any deluxe resort!

7. Cantina de San Angel - when you want tacos or nachos, this is a great spot. You can also get killer margaritas.

8. Yakitori House in Japan - great Japanese dishes including tempura and udon noodles!

9. Fountainview Bakery - great desserts and creme brulee, my fave!

I only have 9 for counter service!

Hope this helps!!!!!

We have not been to EVERY WDW restaurant, but have tried quite a few. Here we go:

1. 'Ohana. So much fun, tasty food, awesome drinks. We do this for dinner on our arrival day.

2. Boma. We love trying new things and really enjoy all the flavors. Have enjoyed rbeakfast and dinner here.

3. Le Cellier. We enjoy the low-key atmosphere and have had many delicious meals here.

4. California Grill. Spectacular view, top-notch food.

5. Kona Cafe: 100% Kona Coffee and the best breakfasts on property. We have also been there for lunch and dinner.

6. Cinderella's Royal Table: You can't beat the setting and we have always had good dinners there.

7. Columbia Harbor House: Favorite lunch spot in MK. Great salad and chicken, upstairs dining area is usually fairly empty.

8. Rose & Crown: We love to get a pint at the bar and some Fish & Chips from the window (portions in the dining room are too big).

9. Marrakkesh: Exotic setting and interesting food. Big portions--I can never finish.

10. 50s Prime Time: The food is homey and filling, but we really go for the fun and laughs.

Top three:

1. 'Ohana: all-you-can-eat great food that's a little unusual (for my family), but with enough variety that everyone finds food he or she enjoys; sit-down service to rest those weary feet; fun atmosphere in the restaurant and at the Poly.

2. Cinderella's Royal Table (breakfast): very difficult to get PS's but worth the effort. Excellent breakfast fare, whether the regular plate of eggs, etc. (and that stuffed french toast! yum!) or the yogurt and granola choice; most entertaining service ever; getting to eat in *the castle.*

3. Boatwright's at POR (breakfast): wonderful place to be in the morning - just love the atmosphere; friendly/southern-style service; basic breakfast offerings plus a few with a southern twist.

Honorable Mention:
Le Cellier at Epcot WS: excellent food; genial servers; great place to relax after pounding the pavement all day.

Matsu No Ma Lounge at Epcot WS: very quiet and peaceful; authentic Japanese food and drink. Guidebooks seem to market the place as a (quiet) bar, but you can get the same food that's offered at the much noisier Tempura Kiku along with your drink.

1. Yachtsmans Steakhouse
2. California Grill
3. Flying Fish
4. Narcoossees
5. Konas
6. Concourse Steakhouse - love their Sticky Mickeys
7. Le Cellier
8. Beaches & Cream
9. Mama Melrose
10. Cape May Cafe

This is only the full service restaurants.

1 - Crystal Palace - love it for breakfast & dinner & love eating with Tigger! :)

2 - Liberty Tree Tavern - great food & fun characters

3 - Cape May Cafe - great dinner buffet - looking forward to trying their breakfast now, too!

4 - Donald's Breakfastasaurus - fun breakfast with characters at AK

5 - Rainforest Cafe - always good food & a fun place to eat at

6 - Cantina de San Angel - (counter svc in Mexico) - we LOVE it here - always eat here a couple of times on longer trips - affordable meal, great food & we like eating and overlooking the lake

7 - Chef Mickey's - we like the breakfast here - but really don't enjoy the dinner - breakfast food is always fresh & the restaurant is much calmer at breakfast

8 - Main Street Bake Shop - Love the cinammon rolls! Great place for a quick breakfast in the MK

9 - Garden Grill - loved the character interaction - hubby liked the food better than I did - a couple of items didn't interest me, like the catfish & stuffing - we will probably try it again in Sept

Looking forward to trying:

Cape May - breakfast
Beaches & Cream - lunch
Flame Tree BBQ - lunch
Mama Melrose's - lunch/dinner

Hope this helps!! :)

I'll preface this that DH and I have only been on one trip by ourselves and it was so quick we didn't get to try many fancier places. All these places we have been with our kids though. We tend to be rather adventurous, but the kids usually like stuff they can recognize.

1. 'Ohana. Yum. Fun atmosphere, never leave empty. It's ALWAYS our first night dinner.

2. Boma. Love the food here. It sounds exotic, but usually it's the spicing that's just a little different. I admit I didn't try everything, but everything that I did try, which was a lot, was yummy. We always try to eat here every trip.

3. Kona Cafe. Best breakfast on property, quality and price wise.

4. Garden Grill. DH's favorite place for lunch or dinner. It's family style and it's more "home cooking". Character interaction is some of the best ever.

5. Cape May Cafe - Breakfast and Dinner. We love both of these. Awesome selections at both meals, great characters at breakfast.

6. Cinderella's Royal Table. I am kind of ambivalent about this one but everyone else in the family always wants to see Cindy and the gals every trip. The food is fine, nothing to be all ga-ga about, but eating in the castle in an experience all in itself.

7. Liberty Tree Tavern. Ambience. Yummy food. It's our new Christmas trip tradition to eat here at least once.

8. Columbia Harbor House. Counter Service, but it's never crowded here, it's always cool inside and the serving sizes are fairly generous.

9. Cinderella's Gala Feast. A newer favorite, to my surprise. I usually don't care for much at the GF, but this feast was wonderful. Lots of variety, and more importantly to DS, Prince Charming ( a male character!) is there.

10. Marrakesh. Have only eaten here once but it's definitely a hit-again type place. Lots of good food and interesting decor. Guys love the belly dancer.

There are others that I think I would like, but we just haven't had a chance to get to yet. Like...

Chef Mickey's
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Fresh
Artist Point
Citricos
Pecos Bills
El Pirata y Perico

And there are those that I do like that if you let me list more I would. Since it's my post :teeth: I will:

Crystal Palace
Flame Tree BBQ (Counter Service)
Teppanyaki
Princess Storybook Breakfast

My top ten in no particular order:

Shula's at the Dolphin
Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club
California Grill at the Contemporary
O'Hana at the Polynesian
Restaurant Marrakesh at EPCOT in Morocco
Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary for breakfast
Whispering Canyons at the Wilderness Lodge
Le Cellier at EPCOT in Canada
Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club
Wolfgang Puck's Express at the Marketplace

Our favorites are (in no particular order):

Chef Mickey's (breakfast~have not yet tried dinner, plan to in September)...great character interaction, a real kid-pleaser.

Tangierine Cafe~CS, great food, moderate prices, nice atmosphere.

Cosmic Rays~wide variety of food (Chicken Caesar Salad is quite good), moderate prices, fun to listen to Sonny Eclipse.

Ice Cream Social at the Garden Grill (The Land)~we have not tried an actual "meal" here, but the Ice Cream Social is not to be missed! Under $7 for each person over age 3, with Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale in attendance. Lots of fun, enjoy the revolving scenery, a good mid-afternoon break!

Biergarten~good food, fun meal.

Akershus~good food, good variety, neat atmosphere.

Our PSs for September are:

Chef Mickey's (one breakfast, one dinner)
Princess Storybook Breakfast, Restaurant Akershus
Ice Cream Social, The Garden Grill
1900 Park Fare, breakfast

Had Le Cellier on there, but decided to scratch it due to DS-after a long day, can't expect him to sit through a sit down meal like that...we're going to (finally!) get to try it in December.

My favorites in no particular order (Be warned, I'm big on cozy and comfort--a place that I can relax with the family. Places like Cali Grill or FF just aren't going to make my list unless the food really made up for my lack of relaxation):

CRT for dinner
San Angel (out of about 13 visits-- our last meal was not great)
Teppanyaki
LTT for lunch
Le Cellier
Jiko
Boma
Trail's End breakfast
Boatwright's breakfast
WCC lunch

My top ten are:

1. Jiko: Excellent service, unique offerings and wonderful African wines.
2. California Grill: The view is spectacular, the service top notch, and the menu ever-changing.
3. 'Ohana: One of our favorite family places, as the view of the MK fireworks is great and the coconut rolling and hula hoop contests keep kids entertained. The food, especially the shrimp, is good.
4. Kona Cafe: We love this place for dinner! The sticky wings are lick-the-plate yummy!
5. Beaches and Cream: The old-fashioned soda fountain atmosphere is fun, the burgers come with toasted buns, and the ice cream is mmm mmm good!
6. Wolfgang Pucks Cafe: This is a lively and colorful place, with a huge menu. There is something for everyone on the menu, and the dessert sampler is always a fun way to end a meal here.
7. Le Cellier: Pretzel bread, pretzel bread, pretzel bread.
8. Fresh: This is a great place for an all-you-can-eat breakfast or lunch. As the name implies, everything is "fresh". The fresh squeezed juices are a great way to start the day.
9. Chefs de France: The "french menu" lunch selection is a great deal at $14.95 and starts with gruyere-topped onion soup and ends with smooth creme brulee.
10. Brown Derby: It's hard to believe you are in a theme park, as the atmoshpere is anything but. Great service and great food.

2 adults, no kids. Haven't been to V&A, Citros, California Grill, Jiko, or Boma's.

10. Portobello Yacht Club (lovely atmosphere, great food, close to Pleasure Island for an evening of fun and romance)
9. Blue Bayou (OK, I know its Disneyland, but it was one of our favorites. Fabulous crab cakes)
8. San Angel Inn (wonderful themeing, great Mexican- and I'm from Austin, so that's saying something)
7. Popcorn from the Main Street cart in MK (Yes, it's not a traditional dinner, but always a must-have with us. And, it allows us to keep moving when others are at dinner, lines are the shortest, and sets us up for a late dinner somewhere else)
6. Spoodles (love the open kitchen and the feta dip with flat bread, fun ordering Tapas menu for variety and splitting with one another)
5. Hoop Dee Doo Revue (never-ending pitchers of beer and sangria, best fried chicken ever, fun show with talented performers, sentimental fav)
4. Rose and Crown (Harp and Strongbow's on tap, great view of Illuminations, DH loves the cheese platter/Ploughman's lunch, Prime Rib dinner cooked to perfection)
3. O'hana's (Hi cousins! never-ending supply of grilled shrimp, salmon, beef, etc., variety of appitizers, pineapple and carmel ending. This meal has it all!
2. Flying Fish Cafe (Outstanding seafood cooked with a mix of market-fresh flavors, desserts to die for)
1. Artist Point (honeymoon favorite, extensive wine list and knowledgeable, gracious servers- was torn one time between the buffalo steak and halibut- my server talked to the chef and made me a surf and turf place. Beautiful setting.

Belle, just wanted to say that we have eaten at all of the restaurants on your list and Cal Grill and FF many times; and if you can relax at LTT, Boma, Trials, End. Boatwrights and WCC--you will definitely be able to relax at both Cal Grill and FF. Both are much more expensive and upscale restaurants than LTT, Boma, et. al but are also more relaxing and with much better food, imo, from our dining experiences at them all.
Just hate to see you write off 2 of WDW's very top restaurants because of a wrong misconception.

mickeymouse710,
Thanks for trying to put me at ease but...I have eaten at both places! ;) I realize that on any given night at any given location one can receive service that seems stuffy. Also, I generally don't like to be seated in the center of a restaurant . I like to be by a window. With having 6 children we tend to draw a lot of attention. People stopping by the table to ask if they're all ours, etc. Sometimes, (rarely) it brings out the ire of certain servers that we have a lot of kids. (ages 9 mos.- almost 18 years). We can feel the snobbishness in our service. You can't help but label places where you have been treated with that kind of service before. Having said that, we are looking at giving Cali another try. Maybe there has been a nice turnover of servers since we last dined there.:p
