Top Secret Pixie Dust! A Surprise 13th Birthday PTR! NEW! TRIP REPORT LINK PAGE 220!

Love your code names and how cute that the kids were freezing the snow :goodvibes

England has been really hit and this is what my road has looked like for the last 4 days, I've always wanted snow but I'm ready for it to go now :rotfl2:

281.jpg

Oh you are killing me! England and snow............. does it get any better than that!

Natasha and Boris...just brillant :thumbsup2

and Moose and Squirel (msp?) that is just icing on the TOP SECRET b-day cake :lmao:

As some of you know, I have been absolutely DYING for some snow here in our little corner of North Georgia.

It came down for about three hours and coated surfaces just enough for the kids to insist on playing in it. Nothing like making snowballs out of the scrapings off the patio table.

Bella loved the snow and frolicked in it the whole time the kids were outside.

Chelsea cracked us up when I said, “Smile, honey,” and she turned on her full wattage, I’m-posing-for-a-picture look.

003-2.jpg

Connor could barely stop what he was doing long enough to look at the camera.

004-3.jpg

I had to get some artistic snow shots. You can see just how little snow we had.

005-2.jpg

By 3:21, our superintendent had called school for today. Now, before all the Northerners in my reading audience start laughing too hard, remember that we do not have the same resources to deal with ice and snow that you have, and most of all, people here in the South don’t have a clue how to drive in these conditions. Add to that, all the snow had melted and left the roadways wet -- with an overnight low in the teens, the roads were going to be solid sheets of ice in the morning.

I should remember to be careful what you wish for because by lunchtime, I was over the whole snow day idea. The novelty was gone, gone, gone. It had snowed a bit more in the night, so Chelsea and Connor were in and out, in and out all day long. Every time they came in, they brought some chunk of snow or icicle to stick in our freezer.
At one point, Connor came in with snow plastered to his back. He proudly exclaimed, “We are making snow angels!”

I replied, “Really? I thought all the snow was in our freezer!”

Your recap of your snow it just so sweet...it amazes even here where we get snow all the time, how the kids are just in love w/ it everytime and how grumpy everyone gets w/ the roads and we deal w/ it every year for several months.

Your pictures are so cute :goodvibes

I have an Aunt & Uncle who live outside of Georgia and she commented too on how horrible the people are driving...they are both orginally from up North so they are fine...but it's everyone else who makes them nervous...they don't miss the mess of the white stuff, but they and their kids thought it was fun...

Here's a couple snow pictures from the Chicago Sub's:

We like to play w/ snow inside too...when DH gathered up a bowl of it for our youngest I thought it was cotton :goodvibes

Glad you had a fun SNOW day day...!

Stardust :tinker:

I think I remember trying to save a snowball when I was little. Ice can be nastier to drive in than snow. We went home early on Thursday and had a 2 hour delay on Friday.

I am going to try another code name. One of my favorite flowers is a Sunflower.:flower3: So let's go with that.

Glad the kids got some snow to enjoy. It does stink to be cooped up in the house though!

We are currently buried under snow...not looking forward to the next 5-6 months!

Chelsea cracked us up when I said, “Smile, honey,” and she turned on her full wattage, I’m-posing-for-a-picture look.

For a posed smile, she's really photogenic! Doesn't look fake. But a mom knows the truth. ;)

Snow! I would die for a little snow or even a little rain.....or even a cold day.....

I remember there was hail in Irvine in 1983 or 4. I was at school when it hailed and my mom saved some in the freezer for when I got home. Awww. Jordan, you could always run up to Big Bear or Arrowhead. Plenty cold up there.

That's so awesome about having a snowday! Ok, well, maybe not if you start getting cabin fever. But in Southern AZ, snow is such a novelty. I lol'd at Connor and Chelsea bringing all the snow into your freezer---haha, kids. :goodvibes

Are you in Southern AZ? We live south of Tucson and are at almost 4k elevation so we get a dusting every couple of years. We live 15 mins from the Santa Rita mtns and they get tons of snow after a storm. It's FABULOUS to not live in snow, but only be 15 mins from playing in it.:goodvibes

That was great. I loved that update. AND yes sorry I was one of those Northerners chortling at your "snow" -- but of course I will add they don't know how to drive in snow in MD either...

VERY cute desparate snow acts from your children... Snow Angels... Good grief!!! Too funny. keeping snow. In the FREEZER??

That snow is still there sitting in my freezer next to the green beans and the toaster strudels.

In a way I am very glad that we were down in Disney when this big storm hit us... even though they would have played in in a lot, being inside is not the same as being outside and a house is only so big for some energetic boys for so long... I would have been the monster who ate her young...

It looks like fun at your house though!

The monster who ate her young! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: I was beginning to feel like that on Friday! The kids did have a great time in the "snow."

so awesome!!! and natasha sounds so exotic! charles better not blow your cover!

You're telling me! I will send him to Siberia if he does! ;)

It snowed here this morning, but it was business as usual. The dusting stuck by me but that's because I'm on the North Shore. Nothing stuck in Manhattan. Nothing. Darn buildings blocking the snow. My hopes for the doors of school to be blocked by snow were gone the minute I got off the bridge

My brother lives in Maryland and he tells me they don't know how to handle snow either :confused3 Does the department of sanitation come around and plow?

Plow??? :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: I don't think the state of Georgia even owns a snow plow. ;) The DOT did salt/gravel the roads which helped immensely.

Snow with dirt and grass is so much better than yellow snow :scared1:

 Good point. LOL!

(you know, this is of such extreme importance that it REALLY MATTERS that we all have different code names! ;) )

by the way, if i have somehow missed your code name, just let me know.

tumbler out.

Thanks, Tumbler, for keeping our list updated!

I am still cracking up at the picture of Bella and the "snow." :rotfl2: I know you don't have the resources...salt, plows, etc but I am glad you got to experience a bit of it today....well happy for Chelsea and Connor and Bella!!

I would really like one good snowfall with enough snow for the kids to actually play in, but it can't wait for a little bit. I don't want any more snow days for awhile.

We have only gotten ohhhh about 8 inches so far today/tonight. We were only supposed to get 1-4...how's that for a forecast prediction!! :rolleyes1 It's really light and fluffy snow though and it looks really pretty outside...:goodvibes I am not one to complain about it here...I like to ski/snowboard and it is a necessary ingredient ;) You have to do something around here to get through the long winters! That is besides planning vacations!! :thumbsup2

Tracy

The kids would love to go skiing! Me, I would be the one sitting and drinking hot chocolate in the lodge. ;)

That is too funny about the snow. I spent the day also trying to round up enough snow to throw snowballs. Our poor kids have to do with what they get living in the south!! I agree that the WL looks like a great place for boys. I think it would be a great place for Connor's birthday since you have already stayed at AKL. :thumbsup2

My kids would be amazed at a real Northern snowfall.

The snow missed us with this big arctic front, but we sure got cold!! The last two days we've had highs in the teens with a really strong north wind. Tonight the wind has finally calmed down, but it's still cold - forecasted low for tomorrow is 3, yes 3!!!! It's not supposed to get that cold here people!

I hear you! It's has been so cold here, too! Yesterday when I got up it was 14 with a windchill of 2. Our average temp at this time of year is in the 50's! Thursday it's supposed to be 55 and I am so excited -- it will feel like spring.

Hopefully we all thaw out soon. I saw a story on the news tonight about the 30 car pile up in Georgia - scary!! Glad you were safe and sound indoors :goodvibes

I am surprised we made the national news, but that wreck near the airport was crazy! There was no way I was leaving the house on Friday!

Snow! I would die for a little snow or even a little rain.....or even a cold day.....

Nah, cold weather is highly overrated -- I would gladly trade you your California weather in the 70's for this arctic blast.

And I am sure they ruined your floors too. That's what happens here anyway. They track all that dirty wet mush in and make a huge mess.

You got more than we did though. We got a total of NOTHING! School was delayed 2 hours and we didn't get one single flake.:sad2:

I couldn't even bring myself to look at the floors -- they were tracking in all manner of slush and grass. :headache:

Your dog is adorable! I must have missed that somewhere along the way. I'm sure I would have noticed it if I had seen her before b/c our Chihuahua is also named Bella! Nothing like those fur babies!

Thank you! We actually have three dogs -- Tabasco, Bella, and Nala. All of them are big dogs who seem to think they are lap dogs. They are great to cuddle with on these cold days/nights.

Copertone checking in.... (wish it was weather for using Copertone)

Ice is not nice.... and I feel for the trapped feeling. I was glad to go to school today after two snow days in one week.... but I was even happier to escape to Target tonight, but can do without the mess in the parking lots.

What I wouldn't give for weather warm enough for sunscreen! :lmao:

I was out of the house by 8:30 yesterday morning -- I couldn't take it anymore. Browsing through Walmart was such a nice escape. By the way, they have some really cute Disney t-shirts for boys, right now. I got a cute vintage Mickey Mouse one for Connor for this summer.

See, your snow is pretty! Our snow here in MN isn't pretty anymore. It's just annoying and ugly so I'm over that. School has been closed for the last two days so I'm considering moving down there to that pretty stuff! ;) I'm glad the kiddos enjoyed it so much!

I don't think I could handle a whole winter of snow! I would slowly lose my mind.

I could have written your post--the same thing happened here!! We were supposed to get several inches of snow early Thursday morning--they ended up cancelling school and we ended up with only a dusting. Ally was so upset b/c she had her heart set on making a snowman.

Poor Ally! Connor was not pleased that there wasn't enough to make a snowman either, but he did manage to regain his good mood by pelting his sister with chunks of snow. LOL!

Jackie,

I am so cracking up at the snow with grass and dirt. The first year that the boys were old enough to really get snow, we had some like that. Ok a little more but not much. They desperately wanted to make snow angels and a snowman.

We ended up with...

A snow rabbit.

One of my best single mom memories ever.

It was the ugliest, dirtiest thing you've ever seen and did not remotely resemble a rabbit. They still remember it.

I bet your kids will remember everything they put in the freezer today!

A snow rabbit? :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: I love it, and can just imagine how it looked with all the dirt and grass! That's great!

I love that Chelsea and Connor were bringing icicles to stick in the freezer. I need to see if Charles ever uploaded to Facebook the picture of the giant icicle that was hanging off the side of my house last year. It was kind of a cross between icicles and a sheet of ice.

 Sounds like that icicle could be used as a weapon!

Bella is SO cute in the snow! She has such a sweet little face. Like Nala, my dog is scared of most things in life, but he's okay with snow.

Thank you! She was loving the snow and racing all around. Nala just cowered by the door until we let her back in.

Redfern is back at home base, after swimming with the manatees.

:lmao: Hope you are staying warm! I am so excited that our forecast says it will be in the 50s by Thursday!

You know, snow days are great.

In theory. And for the kiddos.

But when you work at a bank that NEVER closes no matter how bad the roads are, let's just say you develop quite an aversion to the white stuff. Which is my own dang fault for living in New England. :lmao:

Yeah, I wouldn't want to have to deal with snow for more than a couple of days out of the year. The novelty wears off pretty fast.

I'm glad you got to enjoy, if only for a little bit. Can I be totally selfish and ask for a recent picture of Nala? I was so hoping to see one of her frolicking in the snow, I had no idea she was a big ole fraidy cat...er...dog...you get the idea. ;)

I will take a recent pic of Nala for you! She has gotten so big but is afraid of just about everything. People that come over, the vaccum cleaner, the trash bag going into the garbage, snowflakes...you name it, she cowers away from it. LOL!

AMEN! I feel the exact same way. My bank doesn't close for anything. We even have plans for emergencies for everyone to go to the closest branch to work if you can't make it all the way to the operations center. Oy!

Oh my goodness! So there is never a snow day for you, is there, LL?

CP, I'm glad the kids enjoyed the snow. I had to chuckle at the amount. I envy you living in a place that shuts down when it snows that much. I really do.

It's a perk. I don't mind if everyone else in the country makes fun of us if it means I get to stay home. :lmao:

We used to freeze snowballs whenever we'd get a good snow. The kids would pull them out in the summertime and remember the fun they had. Snow is a rarity here, so we enjoy it for what it is while it is here. I'm sure my kids have fond memories of putting on layers of clothing and going outside to make a snow/dirt/grass man many times. The pictures of the kids out in the cold and snow will be some you will treasure and laugh about in years to come.

I was laughing pretty hard about their continuous treks to put bits of snow in the freezer.

I'm ready for it to get above freezing. It is very, very cold, and it will be tomorrow, too. Then we get some relief. It was very nice to have the two snow days, and now we still have the weekend. :goodvibes

I agree. I am over the cold weather and looking forward to higher temps this week. In fact, spring can come anytime it is ready.

Maybe I have missed it in all the catching back up, or I have forgotten, but what places are you eating on this trip?

I haven't posted about our ADRs yet. We get to make them on the 19th, and then, I will do a nice, long update about them.

That is an adorable amount of snow. Can't imagine what your freezer looks like this morning.

It's a little winter wonderland in there! :rotfl:

I just saw on the master that my codename is a duplicate. Oops. Will have to think of a new one. Will give that my full attention this weekend as I want to be ready for our first mission!

Yes, you must have a code name, C! :thumbsup2

Hope you're able to get out of the house today! :)

I was at the grocery store before 9:00 yesterday -- couldn't handle being cooped up a minute more.

Sounds like a fun PTR!!

Count me in. Glad your kids enjoyed the snow, we are getting more than our fair share here in Maryland this year.

Welcome!!! This has been a crazy winter so far all over the country!

/
we finally got our "snow" day too on Friday... the kids were playing in the driveway all day in the "dusting of snow" that we got... now it is all ice they improvised since they don't have a sled, they used there skateboards as sleds down the driveway! sooo cold though and I'm from Chicago and should be used to this, but I hate COLD weather! all our soccer games were xlnd this morning too hope it starts to warm up soon!

I noticed your county canceled, too! I was all excited that it's supposed to get up to 41 degrees today!

How often do you get snow in Georgia?

the week before christmas Virginia must have got a bunch because my brother called to tell us how stupid everyone there is when it comes to driving in it.
You would think that slow down, leave more space between cars, and brake slowly would be common sense.

We get snow maybe once a year if we are lucky!

some how I missed all the code name fun....

You must have a code name, Cherie!

Hey! may I be "HD" for short, please? That way I am at least somewhat in tune with the code naming...

I was thinking "Appy-Hay Og-Day" but pig latin seemed somewhat overkill... :lmao:

Thank you!!! :)

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I love your snow update!!!! Have no fear about the Northerners laughing.....I TOTALLY get how your area would TOTALLY be unprepared for a snowstorm. I'm glad you all were in and safe, and not on those icy roads. BUT I can totally appreciate how quickly cabin fever creeps in....not fun being confined to your home. When Megan finally came home from the NICU, then I had to stay homebound with her for six months from Nov-April, and the only places we could go were to her Doctor's appointments and trips to our Children's Hospital here. CABIN FEVER doesn't even come close to how I felt after surviving that!!!! Now everytime, I get "stuck" home due to the weather or someone being ill, the fever creeps in so fast it feels like the walls are closing in!!! Hope you get out today!

Oh my goodness! I can't believe that you couldn't leave the house for six months after Megan was born! That must have just about killed you!

Tell Chelsea and Connor that if they ever come to New England I'll take them tubing -sledding at a ski resort with a rope tow!

Oh, they would love that, Heidi!!! :goodvibes

It's amazing how cold it is all over the country. We are starting a bit of a cold snap here, but nothing out of the ordinary for NH in January. And we only have a few inches of snow on the ground... seems like we are the only ones not facing extreme weather. :confused3 And we don't have any significant snow in the forecast either!

Glad you guys got to enjoy the rare southern snow!

I guess the "arctic blast" didn't head to the Northeast. You are lucky! :goodvibes

Great pictures CP! I really like the berry one. Yeah, I'm from the north and I do laugh everytime I hear about the poor south with an inch of snow, but I totally get the ice issue and how unprepared your DOT is. When I was in DC one winter semester, the whole city shut down for an inch or two of snow. My friend from MN and I walked around trying to find any place that was open to no avail.

You must live in SW MN. We haven't had any snow days this year. I'm all sick of the big snow piles at the corners that you can't see around to drive and the big glacier chunks still on the road since Christmas. April can't come soon enough. Winters are sooooo loong here!! (Yes, I've lived here my entire life, I know I should be used to it. I'm convinced we all have short term memory loss that we forget last winter just long enough so we don't all move.)

Come on over. I can accomodate you.

Ice is very scary to us since most of us!

I can't imagine drifts so high you can't see around the corners!

As a Northerner, I did not laugh at all. I thought it was great that your kids and dog thought it was special. We are so used to snow that it doesn't seem all that great. In fact, now that the girls are teenagers, it bothers them because it gets in the way of their social plans.

It was relief to see a family get into it. :cutie: Thanks for the update!

Ah, thank you! Chelsea was a bit concerned that it would hinder her weekend plans though. :lmao:

I keep wondering what your 13 year old will say when she finds out we all have code names because of her special trip. She will either :rotfl2: or

Dragon out!:figment:

I think she will laugh her head off! ;)

 I love that the kids brought the snow into the freezer! Your snow pictures are very pretty, I like the light dusting look versus the "snow banks higher than my car" look.

Light dusting is about the extent of what I want in the snow department. I do love watching the snow fall though.

I hope everything clears up for you guys this weekend, when is it supposed to get above freezing so the ice will melt? I can't imagine how scary it would be to drive in that if you aren't used to it AND don't have the sand/salt trucks taking care of it all for you. :scared1:

Today may be the first day we have above freezing temps. Luckily the roads were better by yesterday -- the DOT sanded the roads and the sun melted a good bit of it off!

I just read this - I can relate! Same here in Central MN. When we pull out of our neighborhood I can't see if any cars are coming and our road outside our house is a giant thick piece of ice. :sad2:

It better melt before May this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 By May we are wearing shorts! I can't imagine having snow that late in the season!

Plow??? :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: I don't think the state of Georgia even owns a snow plow. ;) The DOT did salt/gravel the roads which helped immensely.

Really? Now I understand why they close schools.
Are the temperatures usually as low as they've been in Georgia this time of year?

Your ADR date is quickly approaching. Made any decisions yet?

Since Thursday evening, I made two resort changes. I don't think I can stop myself :lmao:

Okay as far as this replaced southern girl who knows how to drive in the snow I have to agree you...I would never want to be on the roads with all those other Floridians when there were snowy or icy conditions.

Although I did love the pictures of the snow and the stories of the kids playing in the snow. Sounds like Chelsea and Connor had a really fun day!! Here's hoping you're back to work on Monday!

You are having a bit of a cold spell, too, aren't you, Jen?

Chelsea and Connor had a blast, but we are all ready to get our schedules back on track.

Yes, SW Minnesota. We got hit hard at Christmas and then again this week! Ick. I agree about the snowpiles everywhere!! It's nothing short of being a huge safety hazard. Should we head south for awhile?!

Come on down, but wait until our temps return to normal. :lmao:

Love your code names and how cute that the kids were freezing the snow :goodvibes

England has been really hit and this is what my road has looked like for the last 4 days, I've always wanted snow but I'm ready for it to go now :rotfl2:

281.jpg

Oh, wow, Jo!!! I can't believe England has gotten so much snow lately! Do your schools close as well? Your street is so pretty though -- it looks like a Christmas card.

after reading praisehisname's TR and seeing the pictures of her making cinnamon buns on her snow day I've been waiting for a snowday to make some of my own. I finally gave up (It snowed yesterday but lightly so NO snowday for us) and made them last week. I've got to get those pictures loaded. Anyhow to me, snowdays are cooking days. Usually baking but I've been known to make a crock pot stew or two on snowdays as well.

Yum! I did bake a chocolate cake on Friday -- I figured since mountain climbers always pack bars of chocolate for their treks up to the summit, chocolate must have some secret properties for keeping people warm. :rotfl:

Love your snow pictures....I was giggling a little because we have just a "bit" more than that. I had to shovel a path for my beagle Daisy because it was too deep for her short little legs.

Thank you! I know -- it was almost laughable how little we actually got.

I'm sick of the snow already, we have about 6" on the ground, probably more. My poor pomeranian, Wicket, is up to his shoulders when he goes out. He loves the stuff, I guess it is his northern country dna. This is his first snow as he is almost a year old, but it's certainly not mine!

Oh, I was sick of the snow after a day, so I understand completely.

I want to move as far south as I can get, but DH wants to stay in Ohio. I do get to stay the month of February north of West PAlm Beach. Just counting down the days until I leave!

Evergreen out :3dglasses

I want to move as far south as I can get, too. Key West always sounds lovely to me at this time of year.

None :rotfl2: that's why the country has come to a standstill. We're lucky if we get 1 day of snow a year, well snow that sticks so you can go sledging anyway :goodvibes

Are your kids loving it?

Ok - this is totally off topic, but I just have to say, I love your new siggy pics! Oh my gosh, Henry just gets cuter & cuter! :goodvibes He looks more & more grown up too.

I agree -- I love the new siggie pics, Brook!

Hi CP, Joining in, sorry I'm late!!! Glad to see you enjoyed your snow day. We're hoping for no snow days here - we started school after Labor Day. If we use the 5 snow daysthey build into the schedule, we won't get out until June 30th.:scared1:
I would love to take my soon to be 13 year old to Disney for her birthday. Unfortunately it's in February and airfare to Florida is just obscene in the winter. I'll just have to live vicariously through you!:goodvibes

Hi! Thanks for coming over! We are lucky that Chelsea's b-day is in July -- that makes planning a trip a lot easier.

That's so awesome about having a snowday! Ok, well, maybe not if you start getting cabin fever. But in Southern AZ, snow is such a novelty. I lol'd at Connor and Chelsea bringing all the snow into your freezer---haha, kids. :goodvibes

Chelsea and Connor had a blast because snow is a novelty here in Georgia as well!

Yup. Northern California and Florida State are my main contenders. I've been accepted to both, and now I just need to go visit them so I can make a decision (unfortunately, though, no Disney trip in Florida :( ).

Florida State is close to Disney though...:rolleyes1

No joke! Winters are HIGH on the list of why Joe and I want to move. We don't mind some cold and some snow, but 6 months of it is a bit much!

That's why my parents moved down here after a few years in Ohio -- they couldn't take the winters.

Aw, thanks!!! :goodvibes He "helped" me do those this morning, hence the "corn guy" also in the siggy - he insisted! And yes,, he grows up before our eyes...:sad2: Even the September pictures have him looking more like a baby than these recent ones! Sigh.

It's amazing how much time seems to speed up when you have children.

Scorecard checking in! :thumbsup2

Ok, I'll stop laughing now. :rotfl2:

:lmao:

Hey Jackie, maybe I missed it in all the banter, but...won't Chelsea see your ticker on here?

I have been super sneaky and make sure she isn't within sight distance when I post things.

Oh you are killing me! England and snow............. does it get any better than that!

Isn't it great? Makes me want to move there right now!

Natasha and Boris...just brillant :thumbsup2

and Moose and Squirel (msp?) that is just icing on the TOP SECRET b-day cake :lmao:

Charles and I thought we were being quite creative. ;)

Your recap of your snow it just so sweet...it amazes even here where we get snow all the time, how the kids are just in love w/ it everytime and how grumpy everyone gets w/ the roads and we deal w/ it every year for several months.

Glad you had a fun SNOW day day...!

Stardust :tinker:

These pictures are great! Thanks for sharing!!! I love the one of Ruthie out in the snow! :goodvibes

I think I remember trying to save a snowball when I was little. Ice can be nastier to drive in than snow. We went home early on Thursday and had a 2 hour delay on Friday.

I am going to try another code name. One of my favorite flowers is a Sunflower.:flower3: So let's go with that.

Snow doesn't bother me, but ice does make me nervous!

Sunflower sounds great!

Glad the kids got some snow to enjoy. It does stink to be cooped up in the house though!

We are currently buried under snow...not looking forward to the next 5-6 months!

I would go nuts having months of snow and ice!

For a posed smile, she's really photogenic! Doesn't look fake. But a mom knows the truth. ;)

You should have seen how she "turned it on" when I said, "Smile." :lmao:

I remember there was hail in Irvine in 1983 or 4. I was at school when it hailed and my mom saved some in the freezer for when I got home. Awww. Jordan, you could always run up to Big Bear or Arrowhead. Plenty cold up there.

Hail here in Georgia means a tornado is coming. We don't like it much.

Really? Now I understand why they close schools.
Are the temperatures usually as low as they've been in Georgia this time of year?

Temps are nowhere near this low most of the time. Our average high for January is in the 50s. I shudder to think what my heating bill is going to be at the end of the month.

Your ADR date is quickly approaching. Made any decisions yet?

Oh, I know all the places we want to book. ;)

Since Thursday evening, I made two resort changes. I don't think I can stop myself :lmao:

Really? Do tell!

I just paid at $306.00 gas/electric bill. ConEd, our power supplier in NYC, actually charges in ridiculously high delivery fee. Really??? Over $100 to deliver gas and electricity? No one physically comes to my house. This is why I need to move out of NYC.

Can't wait to read about your ADRs. I have to find that cake photo for you today.

On Thursday night, we decided to change from 10 nights to just 8 nights because a resort switch for 2 nights didn't make sense with a 2 yr old. Plus, we have to get back to NY in time for salon appointments for my cousin's wedding. We switched from 8 nights Poly Garden View/2 nights Grand Floridian Garden view to 8 nights Grand Floridian Garden View to 8 nights Garden View Sugar Loaf CL :scared1: Hopefully, that's it. But the BC is VERY appealing. Love the decor and SAB is definitely a good reason to switch.

Ok - this is totally off topic, but I just have to say, I love your new siggy pics! Oh my gosh, Henry just gets cuter & cuter! :goodvibes He looks more & more grown up too.
I thought I was going crazy  until I realized that the pics were changed. Oy I need a vacation.

Well don't move here, ours is just as bad. I just paid a $323 one. That was one of the things that killed me moving from Chicago back to Seattle. The utilities out here our outrageous!

Wow, both of you are at the GF! How fun will that be to read about.

Add your's to Native NYer's and add an additional $150 and that was mine for last month. :sad2: A new record high for us, bleh! I HATE THE COLD!!!! :headache:

Texans also have no idea how to drive in a snow storm, and it usually turns to ice. We had a couple of "snow" days when we lived there. I can say the one good thing about hail is... the car lots have really good sales right after!!!

Oh, wow, Jo!!! I can't believe England has gotten so much snow lately! Do your schools close as well? Your street is so pretty though -- it looks like a Christmas card.
Yep the girls have been off school since Wednesday and it looks as though they're off again tomorrow, we don't have to make them up though :thumbsup2

Are your kids loving it?
They are but as we don't have all the proper clothes they're actually getting a bit fed up with it as they get cold, unbelieveable huh :rotfl2:

Hey Natasha,

Crepes here...;)

I did try not to laugh at your snow woes...and I didn't...

It was so lovely and poignant when you wrote about the kids and the snow and trying to save it and make the most of every last bit of it...was a magical thing for them...it should shows how we forget the beauty in things when we become used to them...and when something is novel to us...we appreciate it so much more...:goodvibes

(I do have to say I personally hate late openings ...we had one here on Friday and I prefer either a closing or a regular start...those two hour delays just make everything topsy turvy...

and lest you think people are better at driving in the snow further north...I think you have to get up to New England...maybe Northern CT...or so...outside of Philadelphia...where you'd think people would know how to drive...ok...some years we get less and some years more...but really people it does snow here...it always has and hopefully it always will...many people seem at a total loss...either going way too fast or driving 5mph...:confused3

Hmmm...all this snow talk makes me want a nice snow storm...enough for a snow day...so during the week and not on the weekend...:thumbsup2

So are you and Boris all about the planning for Moose's big day...(she really would hate that...:lmao:)
