DH and I are thinking of going to WDW to celebrate our first anniversary. I've been to Disney dozens of times with my parents/family, but never with just DH. We honeymooned in Hawaii, so we certainly want to do the luau at Poly one night to remind us of that, but we are on the lookout for a few other places to have some nice meals. What are your top 3 choices for romantic meals at Disney? Thanks!

In no particular order: (sorry, 3 wasn't enough ;>) )

Citricos
California Grill
Artist Point
Narcoossee's (if you can time your reservation around the MK fireworks and the electrical water parade, it's particularly nice)
Flying Fish (this is not particularly romantic, but the food is just excellent)

About the luau, if you honeymooned in Hawaii, you may be disappointed. We were disappointed with this performance even before we'd been to Hawaii.

It depends on your budge and if your on the dinning plan. The PP only has signature dinning. We did a trip for 2 with the just the DDP so no signature for us. :sad1:

I would suggest Kouzzina and Corral Reef if you are on the regular dinning plan or on a budget.

I second the recommendations for Citricos, Narcoossee's, and Cali Grill. Narcoossee's has a particularly romantic flair when you are on the deck watching the fireworks. My DD & SIL went there for their first anniversary, and we had ordered them the castle cake (which they loved). We have not been to Flying Fish but have heard many, many wonderful things about the food...so this year it's first on our list. When you go to the Spirit of Aloha show, be sure to book a level 1 seating. It's more $$ (and not available on the DP), but we always pay OOP when we go because we feel it's that much better in level 1. Have also heard of great things about Jiko, Bluezoo, and (of course) Victoria & Albert's but have never been to any of those. Another second for Coral Reef if you're trying to use 1-point restaurants on a DP. Be sure to tell each place (when you make the reservations....and another reminder when you get there) that it's your anniversary. Enjoy...and Happy Anniversary!!

DH and I have enjoyed dining at these together:

Lecellier (Epcot)
Chefs de France (Epcot)

CRT (MK - We thought dining in the castle together was romantic)

I haven't done the Luau but I would recommend OHANA at the POLY. It is not a romantic setting though, but very good IMO. (Staying for the fireworks afterwards on the beach WOULD be romantic)

Victoria and Alberts, nothing else comes close.

After that I'd pick Il Mulino.

Third I'd pick Citricos. It is usually, but not always, quieter than most Disney restaurants.

Wow! Thanks everyone. We're not going to do the dining plan (IMO, it has been way too much food for me in the past, and we're not going during the "Free Dining" times, so it isn't worth it for us) so the sky's the limit for our dining options! While we can't afford to do a super fancy dinner every night (nor would my waistline like me to :rolleyes1) we are totally planning to splurge a few times on the trip. Keep 'em coming...I love to hear people's favorite places to eat!

I would also recommend bluezoo at the Dolphin if you like fish. It definitely has a more adult vibe to it and it's got a contemporary vibe to it. They've also got a great bar lounge where you can order from the menu. So while I don't consider it romantic, I do consider it adult, if that makes sense.

We've never done a meal without DD, and had an anniversary trip to Disney but in Caifornia. If it were my anniversary though I would like to go to:

Narcoossees at the GF - just gorgeous, and catching the MK fireworks accross the water makes it perfect - would be my first choice
Hollywood Brown Derby at HS - which we always seem to catch when we're frazzled and have park feet, and is a sort of oasis of calm for us
Artists Point at WL - really atmospheric and I love the salmon

We have yet to visit Victoria and Albert's, which is clearly the gold standard for romantic dinners at Disney. My three choices based on places we have tried would be Jiko, Bluezoo and California Grill, in that order.

We just were at wdw xmas week this year and stayed one night at Swan(xmas night) before we checked into AKLV. I made reservations online at swan/dolphin website for Il Mulino for a special anniversary dinner for DH and I. We go to WDW at leat once a year and this was the best dining experience we have had in along time! They knew it was our anniversary and gave us complimentary glass of champagne. Food and service was wonderful..all around. Atmosphere is very nice and we really wanted to return again for another meal, but had already planned our other meals with DDP online before we arrived. I have eaten at CG, Kouzinna, Flying Fish and many others listed (except V&A) and still think that Il Mulino blew them all away.

Connears

If you're looking to do a night of shopping in Downtown Disney and feel like having a margarita and some good food make sure to check out Paradiso 37. They have quite an extensive menu (not just of margaritas although that is what they are known for :thumbsup2)

This is our favorite DTD restaurant now. It has a fun atmosphere and seating outside along the water. It has some lovely views of the sunset as well.:thumbsup2

I always wanted to go here with just dh and enjoy a romantic evening out, although I do enjoy it with dd, it would be a nice place for an "grown-up" only evening.;)

Candlelight romance--ie ,child free and quiet--is hard to come by at WDW restaurants. In fact, the ONLY place that is assured is at V&A.
However, there are places that as Pakey says are more "adult" and where you have a reasonable chance of a quiet anniversary-type meal.

Il Mulino, Shula's and Blue Zoo at Swan/Dolphin are all excellent choices. Very few loud kids at any of them. However, they are in convention/meeting hotels and IF there is a large meeting or convention, expect loud expense account adults at all 3.

Of the actual Disney restaurants, Citricos is probably the best choice. The others are good, but usually noisy.

That is exactly what we're looking for. We're going to Disney fully aware of the fact that "candlelight and child-free" aren't in the cards. I'm of the belief that you can make romance happen anywhere, so why not celebrate at the most magical place on earth! Thanks again for all of your recommendations. We'll be sure to check them out on this trip/future trips!

Just to add to all the good advice you've already gotten here, the later your reservation the more likely that you'll have a quieter meal. We like to shoot for 8:00 and later.
