Top of World Lounge opening!!

I’m staying at BLT right now, and a sign has appeared in the elevator lobby stating that on Dec. 30 and 31, the lounge will be open to DVC members staying at BLT. Capacity limited to 499. A nice surprise although I suppose one would have to get there pretty early to be present for the 11:50 fireworks.

Yes! I think this is a good sign that 4th of July snd NYE will remain the free events! Hopefully they will find a few more special ones that will draw a lot of people to offer us!

We bought BLT specifically to be able to see the fireworks! Tonight we have a theme park view because I didn’t know if the lounge would be opened. We have July 3rd booked, same view.

Throughout the years, we’ve enjoyed TTOTW lounge. We’ve had VWL Groupies meets up there, and before more than one DVC Member Cruise we had a night before meet with excellent representation! I hope it comes back.

I’ve seen the New Years Eve Eve fireworks from BLT but took a bus on New Year’s Eve from MK to Boardwalk and walked to Epcot a few hours before midnight. Caught the fireworks there then hoofed it to Beach Club to grab a bus to MK. It was a breeze going to MK but seeing the gridlock coming out of MK was quite a show too. I remember reading about your plans afterwards so next time that will be our plan. We own at both so it’s doable.

Good news! I wish they'd just open up the patio area for BLT guests all day every day. I like the lounge and would like it back too but if that's not going to happen then at least allow access to the rest.

I arrived almost two hours early to be sure I could get in; I was one of the first but people are filtering in. Still fewer than 20. The inside part is closed. So excited!!

It’s my favorite hotel - won me over from AKL and I like The Lounge just to go and have drinks ! I do so hope they open it for other than special events !
one of my fondest memories is our meet up before the DVC Members Cruise - great time ! We had a huge crowd !!

Or habit. Lots of other Disney hotels (well several anyway) that have outdoor patios that are open. Cameras make it pretty darn simple now to watch without patrolling and access could still be controlled with BLT room "keys".

It used to be open every evening before COVID. It was a nice surprise they opened it for New Year’s Eve and the night before. The inside space was not open on those nights, only the deck. There was one bartender offering beer and wine, no cocktails. But I was pleased.

Pretty sparse attendance. I would say 80 people, no more than 100. As I noted, it wasn’t announced ahead of time so I’m sure that reduced attendance and perhaps that was intentional.

Pete said on one his videos that the lounge is coming back but he couldn’t offer more details. I hope so. It’s a nice perk of DVC ownership and pretty special.
