Can DVC members still access the Top of the World lounge to watch Wishes?

Disney Vacation Club Members staying at any Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort (whether they booked with vacation points or cash) may enjoy access to one of the vacation kingdom's most exclusive spaces: the Top of the World Lounge atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort through December 29, 2013 (blockout dates in 2013 are July 3 and 4, and December 30 and 31). Current operating hours are 6 p.m. to midnight.

This perk is available exclusively to Members and those in their traveling party who are staying on that Member's reservation. At least one Member in the traveling party must accompany the group and present his or her current Key to the World card displaying a Disney Vacation Club Membership notation in order to gain admission to the lounge. If the Member's Key to the World card doesn't display a Membership notation, a Disney Vacation Club Member ID is required in addition to the Key to the World card to verify Membership.

Note that Members traveling from other Resorts must use Walt Disney World Transportation, as parking is unavailable to anyone not staying at Bay Lake Tower or Disney's Contemporary Resort. Upon arrival, Members must walk to the Bay Lake Tower main lobby entrance on the ground floor and check in at the Top of the World Lounge desk in the lobby.

This special Top of the World Lounge access is available on a first-come, first-served basis until the lounge reaches capacity. As the lounge is particularly popular during the Magic Kingdom fireworks, arriving as early as possible will give Members the best chance of gaining admission.

I know what it says, but could we bring a couple friends who aren't staying with us? I mean, do they verify or check everyone's cards? Not even sure if its going to happen, but was wondering.

Policy is guests need to be staying with you or using your points.

Some CMs want to see everyone's KTTW card & a membership card. There have been reports of some CMs only asking for one per party. Up to you - willing to risk being embarrassed?

We took friends up to the lounge two weeks ago and only showed one room key between 13 of us inc 3 children. I don't think they are bothered how many guests you take as long as the lounge doesn't get too busy, we spent a lot of money between us all that evening which can only be good for keeping the lounge open to Members.

I cant, for the life of me, figure out why they would be turning DVC members guests away when as a previous poster said, "the place is a ghost town".

I enjoy the TOWL being quieter but around the fireworks time table it is definitely NOT a ghost town. It gets crowded and the table's become 'chair-less'. One membership card with one KTTW per GROUP.

What would be the best time to arrive on a Thursday evening when MVMCP fireworks are at 9:30 PM? We usually go to CA Grill, but this year want to eat a casual dinner at Contempo Cafe, and try this DVC perk - drinks & Fireworks!

We made a 5:55 res at Cali Gril on 11/7. It is a little earlier than I prefer, but we thought we'd go to TOTWL after to view fireworks. I hope the timing is right!
