top of the world NYE party

Hi All,

We were just lucky enough to get reservations at BLT that cover NYE and we were wondering about the TOTW party for NYE. I know some information can be found via search but i wanted personal experiences and opinions. Did you think it was worth the money? How much was it when you went? Would you go again? Usually we go to the Poly to watch the fireworks but last year they were checking cards and tossing anybody that was not staying at the Poly. This did not effect us as we were there only for the fireworks and not the party but this kind of suggests that maybe Disney is now starting to make events available for guests to keep them at their resorts. This leads me to my last question. Has anybody heard of anything going on at BLT/CR for this night other then the TOTW get together? I know it is 11-mo 7-days down range but i am just that OCD... We are quite excited to get the week. Thanks for your help, it is appreciated.

We were there this New Year. There was no extra charge that we paid. There was a DJ, cash bar, some hors o'dourves (that's probably spelled wrong), hats, horns, etc. There were eight of us, from ages 15 to 48, and we all had fun. We were in the parks one other time on NYE and definitely liked this better. Didn't have to fight the crowds and the view was great! After the show we just went to the room and relaxed. Very enjoyable! No crankiness that can accompany large crowds and a very long day in the park. They shut the Magic Kingdom down at 10 am but did let in some people that evening. I think you had to be staying at a resort on property. We enjoyed it more than being in the park.

Did you have to reserve your spot ahead of time or just that morning? I am sure there is a run on going up there since it is such a small space. The original TOTW was huge. Thanks for the response we will add it to our "must do".
