We are DVC members, but we have not yet tried out the Top of the World Lounge. We were thinking of going there on our arrival day to watch the fireworks, but we will have three little kids with us. Does anyone know if it is okay to bring the kids?

Has anyone gone recently and know if they still serve snacks and dessert? The reviews I've read online are old, and several people said the menu options have changed. We aren't looking for dinner. We just want somewhere nice to take the kids for dessert and fireworks, and an adult beverage for us is a plus. :)

Here is what I found as of Dec 2014:

Snacks
Bay Lake Tower BLT Flatbread - with brie, bacon, ham, sliced tomato and arugula. $8.99

Soft Pretzels and Dips - soft pretzels with spicy-sweet cream cheese and mustard dipping sauce $8.49

Florida Rock Shrimp Salsa - local citrus, avocado and crispy plantain. $11.99

Beef Tenderloin Slider $11.49

Desserts
7 Layer Cake for 2 - with salted caramel sauce $10.99

I will comment on the bringing the kids part and the answer is yes it is fine to bring the kids. BLT is our home resort and we try to make it up to the Top of the World at least once per trip. We usually skip the food and get a fun drink (both kids and mom and dad). For reference our kids are 9, 7 and 5 now but first time up was 5,3 and 1 (yes we were that crazy set of parents!)

That's it? :( I knew it was limited but thought there'd be a little more. My SIL is vegetarian, so that's pretty limited for her. :(

Can you get in to the lounge if you are renting points from a DVC member?

We have been taking our kids up since DS was 9 months old. He's 6 now and still enjoys going up. The menu has gotten pretty basic since they opened but the kids love to get a glo-cube drink and snack on some pretzel sticks. The staff has always been very friendly even to the point of the manager sitting down one night and playing games with the kids. We have found that sometimes it's hard to keep them entertained long enough to watch the fireworks if you get up there too early.
