Top of the World Lounge Closed Dec 30 & 31?

I called DVC to inquire about the Wicked Wine Down or any info for TOTWL for Dec 30. The CM informed me the lounge will be closed on both Dec 30 & 31! Is this normal for it to be closed for both nights? We missed out on getting into MK since park reserrs have been filled up so were hoping to visit TOTWL instead and catch the MK fireworks...
Any other recommendations on trying to watch the fireworks from outside the park?
PS - our teens will be in the park that day already

I was wondering the same thing but wouldn't we hear about that already? I haven't seen anything about New Year's Eve posted anywhere...

Our favorite location is the TTC, near the ferry dock. The music is piped in, and it’s almost a straight-on view of the castle. You can’t see the projections, of course.

At GF, you can watch from the marina outside Gasparilla’s, the boat dock, or near Narcoosee’s, but it’s possible access might be restricted that night. The Poly beach is a popular place to watch from, but on NYE it’s usually reserved for Poly guests because of its popularity. CR has a 4th floor viewing deck, but I’m not sure about any NYE restrictions there.

You can see high-level fireworks from WL and FtW as well.

Hate to say it but it could be a totally private event also. Don't forget that we don't 'own' nor pay dues on that space.

We were just at GF and the whole area by Narcosees was blocked off. No firework viewing from that area. Might be different by New Years.

Last year it was opened for free to those guests staying at BLT.
Traditionally, it was free to guests staying at BLT on the 30th. We always went up there then. Now, I just get a Theme Park view Villa.

Yes. I took the pictures Dec 30, 2021 and posted because people wondered.

Last year TOTWL was not otherwise open, though, at that point. If I recall correctly. So being open at all was kind of a big deal.

This year, things are now normal. Which means a paid event.

I can't get the website to bring up my past reservations, so I'm not certain on the year. It seems like my most recent NYE (I think it was 2019), TOTWL was open for BLT guests on the 30th but closed for a private event on the 31st. Before that; maybe 2017, it was open both nights for BLT guests.

I believe that is correct. For 20 and 21, it wasn’t open at all yet so they allowed BLt to visit for fireworks.

This year, my guess is they will do a paid event for either DVC or private event all together.

The fact that nothing has been shared with DVC owners about it leads me to believe it will be closed to DVC owners
