We are planning a trip for the first 2 weeks of December with DS who will be 5 and DD who will be 2. They are used to eating out so do pretty well in restaurants. We have been to WDW only 1 other time when our oldest was 19 months. We ate at Crystal Palace, Goofy's Kitchen and Hollywood and Vine and otherwise just did counter service. I want to plan our meals a little better this time. We are staying 1 week off-site and one week at Beach Club. What would be your top 10 or so places to eat and what time of day (breakfast, lunch, dinner) would you suggest eating there? I don't want to over-do character meals but would like to insure we have some good food while we are there.

Thanks!
Alison

Without having too many meals with Mickey and the same characters.. We are doing a Breakfast and a Dinner at Grand Floridian.. Marry Poppins, Cinderella and her step sisters..

We have also done the Epcot Princess Breakfast where you get to see.. Snow White, Bell, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, and I am missing someone.. :confused3

For your son how about the Lilo & Stitch at Poly? Chef Mickey at Contemp.. Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom

There are soooo many to choose from

I believe there is one in Animal Kingdom as well with Donald :confused3

Wow! You sound just like me! I also will have a 5 year old and a 2 year old and am staying at the Beach Club! I am so jealous of your two weeks though! We are going in February and I am already planning our meals! My husband thinks I am crazy. My kids are also used to eating out. I think we will do the Deluxe Dining Plan because we like to sit down and eat and not worry. I am not sure though. I am thinking:

-Liberty Tree Tavern (ate there at lunch before, but want to do the character dinner)
-Breakfast at Norway with the Princesses for my 2 year old daughter
-La Celier
-Cape May Breakfast Buffet
-Coral Reef
-ESPN Club (on my hubby's birthday)
-Dinner out at a signature restaurant on the night of my hubby's B-day, Maybe California Grill? (just us, my inlaws are coming with us so they will babysit)
-Spoodles for Breakfast
-Yak and Yeti
-Donald's Safari breakfast
-Somewhere in Downtown Disney (Raglan Road looked good)
-Crystal palace Breakfast

Well, as far as character meals we loved breakfast at Ohana's with Lilo and Stitch because it was family style and we didn't have to go up to a buffet (which I don't mind doing at all, but it was just a very nice meal). We also enjoyed Crystal Palace dinner and are going to try the breakfast this time. I hear 1900 Park Fare is a lot of fun, we've never done a character meal where the character's talk, so my dd's are looking forward to that.
Now non character meals: we liked Coral Reef. The aquarium was really neat and my dd's who were a little younger the last trip loved looking at all the sea life and were very excited about the large turtles! We also enjoyed Whispering Canyon, the kids get to do a stick pony race around the restaurant. It's a noisy place, but not too noisy. (just enough that I didn't have to worry about my dd's being too loud~Ha) We enjoyed the food too, we are going to repeat this place in Oct. as our girls highly requested it. Have Fun!!

In addition to those already mentioned - my kids enjoy the Biergarten in Germany. There is a little non-character show that the kids enjoy and it is a buffet so lots of food to choose from.

Breakfasts:
--Highly recommend Ohana at the Poly. It's a great character meal with good character enaction. Plus the food is good.
--Boma for breakfast is another good one. Tons of chocies for everyone. We like to do this one before we go to AK for the day.

We prefer lunch at these two:
--The Plaza at MK is good. We like to take a break here to eat lunch. It's kindof out of the way and I think overlooked by a lot of people. Dh loves their cheese steak sandwich and I like the burgers. Plus who doesn't like a thick milkshake.
--Sci-Fi at MGM (oh sorry hollywood studios -still can't say that) we like for lunch. Stick to the burgers and fires or onion rings. This would be a fun one for your kids. You get to eat in cars and there's movie clips playing.

Lunch or Dinner:
--There are tons at Epcot we like to go too:
-Chef de France
-Nine Dragons
-Rose and Crown
-Marrakesh - your kids would love the music and bellydancer. She usually gets the kids up to dance with her at some point. It's so cute.
-Tutto Italia - we haven't been but plan to try it out in sept.
-Teppan Edo - the japan restaruatn where they cook in front of you
--Raglan Road - just go early in the evening for dinner

1. Chef Mickey's at Contemporary- We do this for dinner on arrival day. Can ride monorail, get pictures/autographs with Mickey and friends, swing napkins in the air, and watch the fireworks from Contemporary balcony (oh- and eat!) before even entering a park. Oh- very loud and crazy here- fun- kinda the point:)

2. Crystal Palace at MK- Pooh and friends will entertain your little ones while you sit in air conditioning and have a great lunch. Have separate buffet area just for kids. We do lunch, as we are there in summer and want to get out of the heat for awhile. If you fill up at lunch, no need for big dinner.

3. Flame Tree BBQ at AK- counter service BBQ. Good. Walk behind and go down many steps for seating- the lowest level looks out over a lake and we even saw a boat with characters floating by- and a small alligator.

There are my votes for happiness for younger set and parents as well

We like Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern, Whispering Canyon, Garden Grill, ESPN club, 1900 Park Faire.

We get in and out pretty quick and they are mostly all buffett or family style and almost all have characters! Also under 3 eat free at those places (minus ESPN)
