This could be a fun little thread. What is everyone's top five favorite Disney characters, and why for each one? For the sake of parity, let's just say Micky is a given for everyone, and no one include him. We'll make him *honorary all-time Number 1*. So who's left for each of you? Here's mine :

1. Goofy : there's something about his carefree, goodwilled nature that makes me laugh/smile everytime. he dosen't seem to have a bad bone/vibe in his body, and always means well, even if the results don't always match the intentions. and his gawkiness is guaranteed to produce chuckles. and...sadly.....he reminds me of myself. heh heh

2. Simba : i loved watching him grow from a carless cub to a strong lion in Lion King. that movie is the epitome of "the disney magic in the modern era" to me.

3. Buzz Lightyear : i know there's going to be some griping from the "pixar ain't disney" crowd for this pick, but i don't care. to me, toy story is as genuinely disney as any other movie that's come out of the Mouse House in the last 20 years. it's a magical, whimsical tale with a great story. and buzz is great in it! he is so aloof that he dosen't even realize he's a toy. that's GREAT! love this movie, and love the character.

4. Mr. Toad : what could be better than an eccentric, car hopping frog? not much. too bad i'll never get the chance to ride the WDW version of his ride. *grumbles*

5. Donald Duck : he cracks me up. i know that's a simple answer, but that's the beauty of Donald. he's sheer, 100% hillarious temper, wrapped up in white feathers and a blue sailors hat.

well, that's my five......what's yours?

We recently met Mike O'sullivan at MGM and loved him. He is soo tall and he put his hands up in the air behind us. Our picture is so cute.

When we ate at the breakfast Rest sarus at AK
Donald and Mickey were there and they started to tease each other it was cute and funny.

1. :tinker: Tink-she's spunky and sassy like my DD.
2. pooh: Pooh-so cute and cuddly!
3. :donald: Donald Duck-DS absolutely loves him!
4. princess: Cinderella-gotta love HER!
5. :dumbo: Dumbo-I love elephants!

1. MICKEY...it all started with a mouse, so he get's my #1 spot! Plus he is so darn CUTE!
2. TINK...Sassy and sweet
3. EEYORE...Knows how to take it easy!
4. DOPEY...Love those big ears of his
5. TWEEDLE DEE & TWEEDLE DUM...I know that is 2 seperate ones but you can't have one without the other. and they are trouble makers from the get go and I too am a bit of a trouble maker ;)

Five, huh? OK, I'll give a try.

1. Chip & Dale (I count them as one). They're such cut-ups! party:

2. Goofy. Gotta love those shoes! :goofy:

3. Mickey! "It was all started by a Mouse!" :smickey:

4. Minnie. That polka dot dress drives me wild! ::MinnieMo

5. Eyeore. That "woe is me" look is classic! :eeyore:

i am loving the responses on this thread! it's so cool to see what other DIS Board members like in the wide world of Disneyana!!!

Keep 'em coming, guys!!!

Oh this is tough... lets see..

1) Is most definitely Eeyore, I have loved this donkey my whole entire life

2) One can't have a soft spot for Eeyore without also being a Winnie fan :cheer2:

3) Which follows that Piglet must also make the list, being Pooh's best friend and all :grouphug:

4) This brings us to Tigger of course. Sidenote, embarrassing moment in first grade in approximately 1970, reading outloud to the class... I read every tiger reference as Tigger. In my defense, I honestly thought those cats really WERE called Tiggers.

5) Chip and Dale. Another sidenote: due to an extremely hillarious trip report I read on these very boards several years ago (I am SO sorry, I can't remember the authors name, other than Robin aka Wobin) I will forever think of this duo as 'Chuck and Dave'

I'll chip in with my 5, but I'm discovering that it's really hard to narrow down! Also, to the OP - thank you for excluding the Mouse, himself! It gives someone else a chance to be on my list now!

  1. Belle, she's my princess... I see a lot of characteristics in her that I do in myself... I guess she's the princess I dream of being someday!

[*]Winnie-the-Pooh, why wouldn't you love that bear??? I love him because he's really just a simple, loveable, huggable one!

[*]Tigger too, he's just got a great enthusiasm for life, though he's sometimes a bit too impulsive! In many ways he reminds me of the preschoolers I teach...

[*]Heimlich from A Bug's Life - his wish in life is simple... He just wants to be "a beautiful butterfly!" Why couldn't our life's wishes be this simple?

[*]Captain Jack and Will Turner - they're a team, even though they don't want to be... They're truly more alike than they see and they a simply *easy on the eyes* of this Pirates of the Caribbean viewer! (Let's add Will to the ride now too!)

Oh, what an agonizing choice! My list would probably be different five minutes from now, but here's what I came up with at the moment (in no particular order - sorry!):

Eeyore: Because he and I see things the same way.

Dory: She's the best character I've seen in any movie, anywhere, in a long time. Her memory problem, coupled with her positive attitude, make her a great and memorable character.

Flynn: Being a computer geek from way back, my favorite Disney movie of all time is Tron.

Aurora: Aren't her oration skills killer? Just kidding. I like her because of the princess feature films, hers is my favorite. And because her castle is the first one I saw in real life, and was in the first Disney park I fell in love with.

Donald Duck: Always ready to fight, but easily abashed. How can you not love him? :)

1. Jack Sparrow - coolest pirate evah!
2. Pooh - time for a little something!
3. Tigger - T I double-guh- ERRR!
4. Belle - a bookish princess, what's not to like!?
5. Goofy - Mr Walker, Mr. Wheeler - a CLASSIC!

1 Mickey, We all love him, he started it all.

2 Mushu, just love him.

3 Minnie, just adore her.

4 Goofy, the best dog in the world.

5 Snow White, she is a doll.

I love pretty much all the characters but here are my top 5

1. Ariel - her desire to explore a world unknown to her and to experience new things is great.

2. Gus from Cinderella. He is such a cute and clueless mouse always getting into trouble, can't help but laugh.

3. Grumpy - Gruff exterior with a soft spot inside that shines through despite his best efforts. Reminds me of my grandfather.

4. Donald - He is always good for a laugh

5. Eeyore - How can you not love him

1 - Pooh. The 'bear of little brain' is just a bit too similar to me somedays!! :rotfl2:

2 - Tigger. My DH is so bouncy sometimes and over enthusiastic he is my Tigger.

3 - Ariel. Stubborn, knows what she wants & goes for it! Wish I was!

4 - Ursula. My fave 'villain'.

5 - Tinkerbell

#1 - Mary Poppins. OK, I know she was a character before Disney but it was the first movie I ever saw and is still my absolute favorite!

#2 - Jiminy Cricket - Because everyone needs a conscience.

#3 - Thumper - He's just too cute!

#4 - Aurora - Because pink is my favorite color.

$5 - Baloo - He is just too cool!

1. Donald Duck :donald: Now and Forever my #1 And remember....He's not bad, he's just misunderstood!

2. Tigger :tigger: He is just mischevious and likes to get into everything.

3. Captain Jack Sparrow pirate: Maybe it is because it's Johnny Depp :confused3

4. Eeyore :eeyore: How could you not love Eeyore?

5. Stitch :stitch2: Like Donald and Tigger, he's into everything.

Do I notice a pattern here? Three of my five are mischevious and/or have interesting tempers. Hmmmmm.... wonder if that reflects my personality? :rotfl:

1. Stitch! Love him so much, collect everything Stitch! Lucky I work in a Disney Store! I was so happy when I met him in the summer, there was no one else around so I just spend forever cuddling him :lovestruc

2. Timon from Lion King. He was my original favourite before Stitch, gotta love his personality!

3. Alice in Wonderland. Her curious personality just amazes me.

4. Wendy Darling from Peter Pan. I love this girl, wish there was more Wendy merchandise around.

5. Jack Sparrow. What's not to love about a cheeky pirate that wears eye make up?? pirate:

Me and "Lee" have very similar tastes, as all of his are among my favorites, too, even if all of them don't turn up on my top 5.

and i'm glad to see Mr. Toad turn up again!!!
