I would like the Letterman top 10 restaurants but since I am only coming for 8 days--let's make it 8. What do you suggest? I am coming with my daughter, who thinks she is a princess--aged 28. My daughter--not me.

I was thinking of at least one or two character meals. We are planning Magic Kingdom for 4 days, Epcot for 2, MGM for 1 and Animal Land 1. Ideas?? :Pinkbounc

First, I would suggest you revisit your planned allocation of days. With your daughter and you, I'd spend more time at the parks other than the Magic Kingdom... perhaps MK - 2 1/2, Epcot - 2 1/2, D-MGM - 2, AK - 1.

Second, don't eat at the Magic Kingdom. The restaurants there just don't measure up to the restaurants at the MK area resorts.

So, for when you're at MK, eat at Artist Point, California Grill and/or Narcoossee. At Epcot, Chefs de France, Marrakesh, or Flying Fish (at the nearby BoardWalk resort). At D-MGM, Brown Derby. At AK, drive over the the AKL for dinner at Jiko.

I would suggest 'Ohana, Rose & Crown, Le Cellier, Chef Mickey's, Concourse Steakhouse, Coral Reef, Garden Grille. I would also like to make a suggestion with 22 trips under my belt MGM and Animal Kingdom are only 1/2 day parks unless you plan on seeing a bunch of shows. :)

Animal Kingdom only a half a day? :sad2:
There is never enough time! Kali River Rapids! Safari! JungleTrek! Exploration Trail! Dinosaur!

Not to mention the Oasis -- we could spend an hour just exploring that part of the park which many folks seem to just drift past aimlessly. :rotfl:

So true! :thumbsup2

See, I could EASILY spend 4 days at MK and my fav restraunts are there... and AK I feel is at MOST 1/2 day and we do take time to enjoy everything... I dont' think I could do MGM in a half day... but MK and Epcot I could spend 3-4 days in and still feel I missed something...

At MK I *love* crystal palace and cinderella's royal table. My suggestion is booking a res. in CRT when Wishes starts. We had it almost to ourselfs.. 3 other families. and they turn down the lights and the room lights up when the fireworks go off.. it's gorgeous and we got a lot of really fun interaction with CMs...

There is also a restraunt considered counter service.. help me out.. it's by the haunted mansion.. across from the steamboat entrance kind of.. I loved that too.

Other than that Boma is fun... 50's is fun.. sci fi is fun... I love the rainforest cafe... wolfgang puck is DELISH!.. be sure to get fish and chips in england... The Land cs is pretty good too!.. I wasn't a fan of the france restraunt..

That's all I can think of.. sorry for not getting exact names.. getting off work but wanted to post this.. teehee!

first i would take a day away from magic and put to epcot i love epcot. this being said i would eat at:
epcot: le cellier, le alfredo, and rose and crown( try to get seating outside at fireworks time)
magic: concourse steak(contemporary) crystal palace breakfast before park opening so you have main street to yourself great pic opps. grand floridian ahs great rest. cindarells castle was great when we went but not sure with the new menu.
mgm: hated sci fi so would not recomend it. only ate counter service here and this is not that good.
animal: also only counter service but tusker house and flame tree bbq have great c/s meals
downtown disney cap n jacks is great( seafood is wondeful), also planet holloywood( food like you would get anywhere else)
crystal palace was good food and has pooh characters i love eyeore. Magic
also chef mickeys had good food and great character interaction.

You do not mention if you have been to WDW before. We have our favorites but always like to try one or two new places on each trip. Of the places we have eaten at I would list the following:

Le Cellier
Boma
Chefs
Palio
Cape May
1900 Park Fair
Crystal Palace
'Ohana

Places we will never eat again: Marrakesh, Alfredos, Chef Mickey, Tony's, Biergarten.

Places we really want to try: Jiko, Spoodles, Nine Dragons

Are you only looking for places in the Parks? I think that most of the good food is out at the resorts my list would be (in no order) Artist Point,Jiko,Cali-Grill,Flying Fish,Rose and Crown, Le Cellier, Cape May(characters) Crystal Palace (character)

To answer your question, here are my top eight:

Yachtsman Steakhouse
Spoodles
Boma
Flying Fish
Jiko
Beaches and Cream
50's Prime Time
Rose and Crown

Our favorite character meal is breakfast at the Cape May Cafe.

Only the last 2 are in a park and none are at the MK, so I am no sure how much it helps you.

I will have to agree with posters above in saying 4 days at MK is alot! I would suggest a full day at AK and a day off to relax and swim, maybe go to Downtown Disney. My DD is about the same age as yours and we also enjoy a day off from the parks.

Here's our Top Eight:

:) California Grill Contemporary Hotel
:) Chefs de France Epcot
:) Casey's Corner MK (great hot dogs) Counter Service
:) Crystal Palace (Pooh bear) breakfast MK
:) Brown Derby MGM
:) Kona Cafe Poly Hotel
:) Alfredo's Epcot
:) Rain Forest Cafe (good, huge salads)

Have a great trip :thumbsup2

I guess I should clarify, I only spend a half day at MGM and Animal Kingdom because I run through and do all of the rides that are "thrilling", I do not stay for shows, or parades. If you have not been before or not that many times by all means take as much time as you need to explore. I find that Epcot is a two or three day because I love the World Showcase and Magic Kingdom is a classic and wonderful place. I just find all of the MGM shows to be tedious and boring.

If you are looking for good counter service try Pecos Bills in MK, Flame Tree in Ak, Rose and Crown Window in Epcot, and the cafeteria at POP or ASMo

Here are our Top 8:

Jiko
California Grill
Hollywood Brown Derby
Palio
Le Cellier
Citricos
Restaurant Marrakesh
Garden Grill

I don't stop for parades or shows either and still always find something new and special at Animal Kingdom! It is everyone's choice of course and not everyone loves animals but if you have the time please stop and smell the flowers! ...or scat..manure.... whatever you wish to call it! :rotfl2:

That said these are my favorites not in any order

Brown Derby
Le Cellier
Boma
Prime Time (for plain fun)
Marrakesh
Chef's de France
Flying Fish
Germany (if you eat meat)

Here are my ideas for you:
Crystal Palace for lunch or dinner at MK (buffett character meal)
California Grill (at contemorary)
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (Princess Storybook Character Dining Norway - World Showcase - Epcot)
or Cinderella's Royal Table (breakfast, lunch or dinner at MK, which ever you can get)
I would also spend more time in Epcot, especially for that length and if you love going to resturaunts. If your doing the dining plan then I would definately do more at Epcot. Alfredos in Italy, Marrakesh in Morocco, Chefs de France, Le Cellier Steakhouse in Canada are all great.

You could do MK in the am and afternoon, then head over to Epcot for dinner if you didn't want to spend as much time in Epcot.

Mama Melrose at MGM is good. Hollywood & Vine we thought was just ok.

Post back with more info. Give us an idea of what you like to eat and that might help narrow your choises.

As we almost never eat dinner in the parks, I am listing my favorites for dinner outside of the parks and my favorites for lunch inside the parks.

Dinner: California Grill, Flying Fish, Citrico's, Narcoossee's, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Artist Point

Lunch: Chefs de France, Flametree Barbecue, Pecos Bill, Casey's Corner

Here are my 8. At MK only Tony's and Liberty Tree Tavern are decent and only for lunch. At Epcot, I would go to San Angel Inn and Alfredo's. At MGM, I would go Sci-fi and/or Brown Derby. At DAK, I love the counter service for Flame Tree (best counter place in any park). The Rainforest Cafe is OK.

That leaves a couple of spots for the resorts. I would definately go to Boma abd Ohana. Chef Mickey's for a character breakfast.

OK, here's my list :goodvibes

Le Cellier
Fulton's Crab House
The Rainforest Cafe
Wolfgang Puck's
The House of Blues
'Ohana's
50's Prime Time
Sci Fi Diner
:teeth:
