The family and I will be traveling to WDW in September - we will be there for 5 days/4 nights and then all aboard the Disney Dream :goodvibes

We have the free dining plan and are arguing about which 4 table service restaurants to go to....so I figured I would take it to the DIsboards.

What are your TOP 4 Must do's!!!!!!!!!!!

I think a lot depends on what you have at home and the type of restaurants you might typically go to. Being landlocked in Indiana, getting fish and fresh fruits and vegetables is nice compared to what's relatively available at home, but someone on the east coast or whatever might think Disney's version of fish or ethnic is horribly bland.

I guess it also depends on if you have kids and need character meals.

But anyway....

As of now, my family says (in no particular order):

1. Chef Mickey's for the characters, basic foods, and the location of the restaurant near MK and monorail excitement.

2. Ohana's for dinner (fireworks and water pageant if you can time things right)

3. Probably Boma just because it's way different--although not really our kind of food

4. Tutto Italia (although I didn't care much for the fish, but the atmosphere is outstanding), of if you don't want Disney-Italian, Yak & Yeti in Animal Kingdom is a very cool place and good Disney-Asian.

1. Hype or not I'm still a fan of Le Cellier, it has never disapointed me.
2. Love Boma, it's the only buffet that I do, other than Tusker House Character Breakfast Buffet when with little ones.
3. Jiko
4. Newest favorite but I don't think it's part of free dining-Todd English's Blue Zoo!

Hi Patrice - You didn't say how old the little mouseketeers are, but I've done DDP with my two for several years, and some of our favorites will not change, others are added in over time -

If we had to pick just 4....:dance3:

Kona (Polynesian)- hey, the desserts have their own table - and the kids tell me that cloud thingy great!

Tutto Italia (Epcot WS)- My son has always felt that he was treated like royalty in his fave "fancy" restaurant. We've done several birthdays here, the lasagna is great and the waiters seem to bend over backwards to please!

Olivia's (at OKW) - worth the trip to the resort (via boat if you're coming from SSR or DTD). Cozy, comfortable, great food and "member specials" like buttermilk fried chicken or meatloaf. Don't miss the Olivia's potatoes or the NY strip "jus" ..mmmm

Last but not least - Ohana for DD or Tappan Edo for DS - Hospitality, performances, excellent wood-grilled flavors at Ohana's, (along w/ fireworks if you're lucky) and at Tappan Edo - more performances, freshly made hibachi-style chicken, beef or shrimp cooked before your eyes!

I'm hungry. Can't wait til we get back in August!

Yachtsman Steak House - always great
Le Cellier - a must do if you've never been there
Jiko
Narcoosee's

1) Akershus Breakfast - the food, service, and Princess interaction is awesome. It is our family tradition to have breakfast there on our first full day in Disney.

2) Cape May Cafe Breakfast - Love the characters, love the food, and love the atmosphere. This is probably the most relaxing character meal you will get on Disney property. Sometimes I forget that it is a character meal because it is so quiet. The service there is also topnotch.

3) Le Cellier - all I have to say about this place is Cheddar Cheese Soup/pretzel bread, Fillet with Mushroom Risotto, and Chocolate "Moose" Dessert.....:cloud9:

4) California Grill - this is a signature restaurant, but one that we never miss when going to Disney. The view of MK is breathtaking plus the food, service, and the whole atmosphere is awesome. Another thing we love about this place is watching Wishes from up there on their balcony. It really gives you a different perspective on watching the fireworks :goodvibes

Of course we have other favorite restaurants, but these are the ones we make sure we have ADRs for each time we go to Disney. Have an awesome trip.

1. Sanaa
2. Flying Fish Cafe
3. Tusker House Breakfast
4. Crystal Palace

I don't have a top 4 - there aren't that many I care that much about.

That said, my only must do is 50's Prime Time....I do love that fried chicken!! :)

Crystal Palace - Breakfast: Love Pooh & Friends, atmosphere great and amazing character interaction. And oh I LOVE the puffed french toast!!!

Cape May - Breakfast: Again, great food and love the characters

Yachtsman Steakhouse - Great steaks, very nice setting. Have never had a bad meal here, and a nice change, little bit more "fancy" I guess

Rose & Crown/Nine Dragons - Love both of these. Different atmospheres, but I have had wonderful meals at each.

There are many more that I love but those are top ones. I personally like breakfasts more than anything. :)

This really does depend a lot on your personal food preferences, but these were some of our favorites from our last trip....

Le Cellier (even with it changing to 2TS, it's still worth it to me, as it was my favorite meal)

Ohana's for dinner - Maybe it was eating the "open flamed" (kind of like an awesome summer bbq) in the middle of winter, but we ate there twice. The kids enjoyed the food there too, but they also have the typical kid food if your children aren't into the usual fare. The kids enjoyed the fun activities, and would probably tell you it was their favorite meal.

Kona's has a great meal, and as mentioned before, their desserts are amazing! (We definitely would have eaten at Kona's again, in a heartbeat, but ran out of time!)

Citricos was another great meal, but a 2 TS one. Their steaks were very close to Le Cellier, and several of us (4 adults) picked this as their favorite meal over Le Cellier. The kids enjoyed their meals, and it was the one place where the kids mac and cheese actually tasted good to me too! LOL

Enjoy your trip!!

Chefs de France We just enjoy the unique foods offered here. Seem to be a bit different than the others.

Le Cellier Love the soup, the bread, and the steaks!

Boma By far our fav Buffet! We are trying OHana this trip.

Coral reef or Teppan Edo The kids Love the atmosphere at Coral Reef and we have enjoyed the food despite the sometimes unfavorable reviews.

Enjoy!

Tutto Italia, great food and service, costly so being on DDP is a great value.

Le Cellier just really enjoy the food, pretzel bread, canadian cheese soup, and the filet mignon. Since going to 2ts for dinner, may switch to lunch or do our other fav, Yachtsmen.

Boma has unique flavors , love this place

Tusker House breakfast, have to have one good breakfast while on vacation and this is the place to have it.

Our top 4 for when we are there on a long trip, if we go for a short weekend we just grab what is nearest our resort

1. Cape May breakfast
2. Cape May Clambake
3. Via Napoli
4. Citrico's

Kona Cafe
Tutto Italia
Those are my only "must do's". We go to both on every trip and the food is consistently great at both!

My top 4 Must-Do's:

Breakfast at Chef Mickey's,
Lunch or Dinner at CRT,
a World Showcase Restaurant - I'm not picky, but I have to eat somewhere in the World Showcase,
And either dinner at 'Ohana or Kona

1. Chef Mickey's -Character Interaction is awesome!

2. Teppan Edo - Awesome Hibachi Steak, Shrimp,Chicken also have a great kids menu!

3. Garden Grill- Food was great and Character Interaction was great! They have fish on the menu but you can request soomething else or no fish period but tell the server first if you choose not to have the fish as it is family style.

4.50's Prime Time- Food was really good and the staff is just too funny they pull lil funny pranks on the whole family!

These are the 3 I've booked for my friend's first trip...plus my other pick that we don't have time for :)

1. O'hana-dinner-My favorite, favorite meal! I love the view (especially if you're there at firework time), the pineapple bread...just everything! Lots of fun activities for the kids (and adults!)

2. '50s Prime Time-lunch- The food is good, but I really go for the atmosphere. Its the kind of place that you'll only find at Disney. I often go there just so I can get the s'more dessert :)

3. 1900 Park Fare-breakfast- wonderful food, great character interaction! ONe of the things that I love is the odd combination of characters. Its also nice to get a chance to see the Grand Floridian because i know i'll never stay there :)

4. Sanaa-lunch or dinner-I go here every opportunity I get! I'm local so its usually not a big 'event' spot, usually just when i want to some really good food! I move my schedule around just to make sure I can get some tandoori chicken in my life. My friend's trip is only 2 days, so I know I can't cram in anymore TS, that is the only reason We're not fitting it into this trip

Honorable mentions: Hoop Dee Doo, Teppan Edo, Kona Cafe(breakfast or Dinner), Grand Floridian Cafe (I've only been there for breakfast, but they were the best pancakes EVER!)

1. Jiko- the food, the wine, the atmosphere :)
After that, I can't narrow down another three- Flying Fish, Boma, Le Cellier, Artist Point just won't fit into three places!
