I was just wondering if anyone knew if you could walk up and order their milkshakes to go? I honestly thought my husband would think I was crazy for wanting a $12 milkshake, but now he's more excited than I am to try one!

Yes you can just make sure you specify so they give you a to go cup!

I will say that the milkshakes were a little bit disappointing. They may be the prettiest milkshake I've ever had but certainly not the tastiest. I think it's worth the experience, though, at least one time! Just don't have your hopes up for the most tasty shake in the world.

Thanks for the great advice! If you have had the milkshakes at D Luxe Burger at Disney Springs, which would you say was better? Do you think the price affected the taste (i.e. for $12, that should be much better), or were they just generally meh? We have a few wonderful burger joints in our town that offer amazing flavors, but I've never seen ones like Toothsome before!

As far as price, I was definitely expecting to be more wowed than I was. I thought it was worth maybe $8, tops. It wasn't awful but it just wasn't justified.

I have not had the shakes at D Luxe so I can't give you a personal opinion. Here's a good review of D Luxe which mentions the milkshakes: http://www.disneytouristblog.com/d-luxe-burger-review/

If you are going the Disney Springs route, I would also stay away from Supernova Shakes at Planet Hollywood. I've heard quality-wise they are even worse than Toothsome. Not that Toothsome was terrible, just not good enough for $12.

No idea if what we got was made correctly, but the 2 shakes were not what we expected. The shakes were more like smoothies. We were expecting diner-style shakes.

I was also not wowed. They looked good but were honestly small and didn't warrant the $12 price. Should be $8.99 tops. Most of the size is in the stuff on top which for mine was a lot of whip cream. The May Contain Nuts and the Chocolate Brownie Bark sundaes look like they're more worth the price but I will likely never know.

I agree with the other posters, the shakes are over priced and under delivered.

I expected resort pricing and $8-$9 seems about right for the setting.

For $12 I was expecting something gourmet. You know how when you go to a really nice restaurant, the flavors of things are balanced and "just right?" The shakes aren't that and for $12, they should be.

I took just a few sips of mine and let it sit. It was telling that the bartender didn't even ask me if I liked it or why I didn't finish it. Mine was some sort of salted carmel @ $12.50 and it was just not good at all. My son got the brownie @ $13 and it was better but he only drank half of it and this is a kid that polishes off a pint of Ben & Jerry's in a flash, he loves his sweets.

We did enjoy the bar area but it was a pricey treat.

We were told part of the price is the mug. I didn't finish mine (enjoyed it but I can never finish shakes) and they took the cup back and washed it out for me. I now use it as a change jar at home.

Fair enough. I was surprised the mugs were plastic. I told the bartender to give ours to the people next to us as we have too much of that sort of thing at home.
