So, what are the going rates for teeth from the tooth fairy lately? My son has his first loose tooth, and I have no idea what to give him for it. :)

when I was a kid it was a buck if it fell out on it's own...$5 if it had to be pulled.

hehehe you know..pain and suffering and all.

my poor father - I had more teeth pulled then those that fell out naturally - before I got my braces on I had EIGHT pulled.

$10  wow big inflation since I was a kid.
I see nothing wrong with a dollar and to make it more fun how about a Disney dollar.

OMG - our tooth fairy only pays $2 - $5. My kids can't wait to grow up and get a job - they are so financially mistreated!

Our tooth fairy usually brings a favorite candy bar.

Wow!!...our tooth fairy must be a cheapskate;) She only pays $1! There must be some expensive teeth out there!:p

Our kids get 2 half dollars and 2 dollar bills for each tooth lost. My dd is 10 and is finished loosing teeth but my ds, 8, still has quite a few left. No complaints from them. :teeth:

The tooth fairy left $5.00 for the first tooth and now leaves $2.00 for the small ones (front) and $3.00 for the big ones (back).

I must be soooo old. ;)

I remember getting a dime under my pillow when I lost my very first tooth (lost it standing in line at the Country Bear Jamboree at WDW, and the tooth fairy left the dime under my pillow at the Contemporary!).

When I was a little older, I got 35 cents once, so I could buy a certain popsicle treat from the ice cream truck. I usually got a quarter, though.

Heck - for some of those prices, I'd almost consider getting teeth pulled now! :D

Wow! LOL! I can't ask you people for help in whittling my son down. His friends get $5 a tooth. He can forget that! I'd say $1 is my limit.

He, dizneegirl...don't feel bad. I remember getting 25 cents...and that's what I want to pay DS! :)

The first tooth is special, so the fairy leaves a sacajawea $1.00 coin.

Thereafter it's .25 (We've got 4 kids, we'd go broke at some of these rates!!!)

We do up the anty, and give .50 when a tooth has to be pulled. Luckily that has only happened twice.

My son is about to lose his first tooth....I think $1 is what the tooth fairy is probably going to leave...great idea about it being a Disney Dollar!

We gave $5 for the first tooth and give $1 for every tooth after. I remember getting a quarter in the 70's so if you figure inflation... ;)

Seriously though, you really can't even buy a package of candy for a quarter anymore so we moved up to a dollar. An extra .75 won't break me....errr the fairy.

For us it's $1.00 under the pillow....and I thought that was too much.

DH & I don't have children, but were babysitting our neice and nephew for a week when my nephew lost a tooth. We weren't sure how much to leave so I told DH "just use your judgement". Well...DH snuck in the room and left $20.00!! His defense was "I didn't know... he rolled over.....I panicked!!" Apparently he took his whole wallet in there??!! Nephew was thrilled though!!

Needless to say my brother & his wife had a lot of explaining to do as to why tooth #3 was $20.00 when the rest were $5.00

The tooth fairy gave DD $20 for her first tooth (she didn't have change) and for every tooth after that she gets $3.

All I can say is WOW!!!!

The tooth fairy gives what I got...$1. in the form of a coin.

The tooth fairy leaves a $5 bill and assorted coins at my house. And we tell my son that she pays more for the cleanest, shiniest teeth as a little incentive... :teeth:
