My 8 y.o. DD just lost another tooth today. She came home with it in a tissue from school. The younger 5 y.o. DD wanted to see it and then she said "YUK...I never want to see that again. But I DO want to see the MONEY!!!" :rotfl: :rotfl: (You just had to be here to see it)

Anyhow, my question is...how much does the tooth fairy leave your kids?

the tooth fairy leaves my son $3--not sure why--maybe because that was all the cash she had when the first tooth was lost.

one time she forgot to leave cash under the pillow, but luckily we found it a few minutes later at the front door--apparently she had trouble getting in. YIKES!!

She leaves a gold dollar at our house.

Except for the time she forgot to come. The next night she left 8 quarters

The Tooth Fairy leaves $2.00 per tooth. Except for the two teeth that my daughter lost during our last Disney trip. She got $5.00 per teeth at wdw.:teeth:

Everything IS more expensive at Disney, you know!!! LOL AND more special!!!:wizard:

For the first lost tooth it was $5 Disney Dollars and a book about the dentist. Second tooth was $5 Disney Dollars. The tooth fairy knew Sam was saving for his vacation.

Our tooth fairy leaves 1.00.

I always received 50 cents, but my sister ALWAYS got $5! My tooth fairy was a cheapskate!!!

I had a couple teeth extrated by my dentist a few years back. My dentist asked if I wanted my teeth. I asked if I left them under the pillow of the dentist chair would the tooth fairy look after my dental bill.

First tooth: a dozen donuts to be shared with the rest of the family.

WDW tooth: a really cool magnetic Tinkerbelle picture frame (still on our refrigerator); the Tooth Fairy asked her cousin, Tink, to help out that time.

Other teeth: whatever loose change the tooth fairy (currently a 12yo boy living in Maryland, whose mother can never remember lost teeth) can come up with.

$1.00 unless you lose 2 on the same day.. that is worth $3!

That's a good one!!!!

I carry on what I got when I was little (no inflation for the Tooth Fairy) which was/is $1 coin. Only difference is mine were silver and DDs are Gold.

Tooth fairy leaves a buck here too -- but it is the paper kind. Once the tooth fairy was SO busy getting all those teeth, she couldn't make it to our house before DS got up  She came the next night, left 2 bucks (probably because she felt guilty! ) and a very apologetic note :p

It is my understanding that the Tooth Fairy is bound by folk lore to leave coins, although I'm not sure where or why this legend began.
She always left $1.00 in coins at our house, unless she forgot to come on the appointed night. Then guilt forced her to pay principle, interest and a late fee.....$5.00. :jester:

Tooth Fairy always leaves a silver dollar at our place too! Although, the tooth fairy that visited DD at a girl scout sleepover left a paper dollar, they must have a different fairy over in that part of town. That's what we tell the kids when they wonder why a friend got something different than they did....there's more than one fairy out there, it depends which one you get.

Ever since DD figured out "the great mystery" of the topic at hand...the tooth fairy got really creative. We never liked hearing about so & so got $5 when their tooth fell out.

We now give DD foreign coins. It started more because DH is into coins a little bit. DD is somewhat interested in them too. She loves to look at them. The "value" of them is much less important than the "coolness" of them.
