I didn't see any threads announcing this, so:
As the Disney Online Gaming community all knows, Toontown Online shutdown in September due to the need of more space for other mobile apps. Luckily, just like myVMK.com, a group of independent programmers have started to rewrite the code and set up a new Toontown Online. The group is calling the game Toontown Rewritten, and right now they are in beta, which requires a code. Though there is no real release date, they say they are close to releasing it. It will be completely free, and all of the area will be included. There might even be new features and areas, so stay tooned (pun intended) to their news feed.

I believe they're holding elections for Toontown Central Mayor, but every now and then they release some beta codes, so stay tuned.
