I just wish they had made a DuckTales attraction with Scrooge's money bin and a beagle boy caper.
OOOOhhhhh they SOOO need to do this!!!If only..heck if they did a whole Disney afternoon theme land from the 90's with Rescue Rangers ( At least there's Gadget's Go Coaster) , TaleSpin , Ducktales , Darkwing Duck, Gargoyles..I'd never leave lol.
Back in the day, that might have been a good idea, but would it stand the test of time. Most kids today probably have no idea about any of those shows. If only..heck if they did a whole Disney afternoon theme land from the 90's with Rescue Rangers ( At least there's Gadget's Go Coaster) , TaleSpin , Ducktales , Darkwing Duck, Gargoyles..I'd never leave lol.

I believe my 12 year old is one of the rare kids that knows Splash Mountain was even based off a movie at all... and she's seen it (the movie) several times. Honestly, until I looked into the history of the ride, I had no idea either.I suppose there are rides where the theme may be obscure. Who today really understand Mr Toad or Song of the South?

Thankfully I have a kid who takes rides as nothing more than rides. She knows they have a movie/story behind them, but doesn't think the ride/area is pointless if it doesn't pertain to current pop culture. She asked who Gadget was, and I explained that it was a cartoon from my youth (like Roger Rabbit, the story/record of it's a small world, Alice in Wonderland, and all the others she hadn't seen or known about), and she just took it at face value--cute theming and on to the next attraction.
Yes! Loved that! I was 20 and just married, working (teaching preschool), and going to college. I would watch Disney Afternoon on my lunch break and I had a Rescue Rangers thermos for my coffee. When I graduated in 91 my parents sent us to DL for my graduation present and I had a great time posing with the cut outs. And remember the boat ride they turned into a Gummy Bear ride? I also believe I was the first Disbounder because I wore a blue shorts jumpsuit with yellow and blue socks and I had a Flounder pin on my collar.Yeah, Duck Tales and Rescue Rangers would have been way better than what they did. Disney Afternoon was awesome. Anyone remember that small cardboard cut-out style mini-area they had for it in the 90s? Loved that!
