$98!!!!

I kind of "happened upon" a doorbuster sale at JC Penney! I planned on getting her dress and shoes there, and when we went, it was in the hours of a doorbuster sale on Saturday, plus they had a $20 off coupon over $100.

I saved $64!!!! I am not a bargain shopper, so I get excited when I save that much money.

Here is her dress....(this is the pic from jcpenney.com, it is not my DD)

I bet your daughter is thrilled with her dress..gorgeous!! :)

I still remember the late wife always coming back from a shopping trip bragging about "how much money I saved!!!" LOL!!!

But I must say, she is a cutie!!

Great deal! My sister just bought my niece's communion dress on Sat and spent $280 for dress, shoes, veil, etc. :faint:

When DD made her First Communion MY favorite dress that she tried on turned out to be a $330 dress ( I didn't see the price tag before she tried it on). Fortunately for me, she didn't like that one and found one that she loved that turned out to be on sale for $65!

OP, pretty dress!

I like that dress a lot, I always go for the simple, tailored styles. :thumbsup2

I miss the days of communion dress shopping. I took my daughter prom dress shopping this past weekend! Yikes! :faint:

What a beautiful dress.

My daughter will make her first communion next year. I think I should check out the clearance racks this after this season.

I would advise against that. I am a big clearance rack shopper but for something like a Communion dress you want to be positive it will fit and you just never know. It isn't something she can were for a while while it fits or wait to grow into.

Most stores have HUGE sales on Communion dresses. Macy's had a big selection and great prices when we were shopping for dresses. Bridal stores are also a great place to look. I know some people that got their girl's dresses for about $25 at a bridal store.

I bought my DD's dress last year on ebay. Brand new, with tags... it came with a headpiece and gloves. The total price, after shipping, was $40. I bought it a size bigger in December or January and by the time May came along, we tried it on to see what was going to need to be altered and if fit perfectly.

It was one of the richest looking dresses on any of the girls and our secret was that we paid a fraction of what the others did.

What a great deal! DD is going to be a flower girl in DSIL's wedding in May and we have already bought the dress ($140 itself-- :scared1: for a 2 year old!) but then we went shopping for accessories on Saturday and DSIL (thank god she paid for it) bought DD shoes, purse, gloves, rhinestone tiara and spent close to $100 just for that! :faint: Wish I would've found a deal like you did!

IKWYM about kids' wedding dresses. DD's was made for my DSIL's wedding. MIL paid for it. To this day, I have no idea what the silk shantang, custom made dress cost to make. I know that in NYC, this dress could have sold for about $3,000 because of the fabric and the tailoring. Luckily, we live near Scranton, PA, so the costs are less... but still and all... it was for one day... and DD was NOT the center of attention. I'd have been as happy buying that dress on ebay, too.
