Took DD to the doctors for a high fever and

they tell me that she an an infection in her throat, and she needs to have an ultra sound of her throat because it looks like her thyroid is swollen. Has anyone every had that before. She's only 9 years old. I don't know what to think. We got Wednesday for the ultra sound.
