Received a phone call from a relative today asking if I could print out some photos of other family members for her.. Sure - no problem - except I don't have them organized very well (been working on it off and on for a year) and literally have thousands of photos on my computer..
Couldn't find the ones she wanted, so I went into my photo program, clicked on "all photos"; turned on my Yahoo music program and made some selections from my playlists to listen to (not realizing they were all the sappy, sentimental ones); and proceeded to go through a slide show of every single photo on my computer!! (Not just from cameras and such - also old photos from when my kids were babies - and I was a baby - that I scanned in a few years ago..)
Talk about a "walk down memory lane".. That was quite a journey.. The happy times; the sad times; the silly times; the scary times; all of the special events during the past 60 years; the tough times; the friends who have passed on; family members that have passed on; the vacations; the Disney trips - you name it, it was all there..
I laughed; I cried; I was happy; I was sad - I think I covered every emotion in the book.. It really was like "watching my entire life pass before me" - as if someone made a movie of my life..
My final conclusion? I've had a pretty darn good life - with a wealth of people I have loved and people who have loved me ..
If you're ever feeling down - or blue - give it a try.. The "good" somehow has a way of taking the sting out of the "bad"..
And yes - I found the photos - LOL - but I really need to do a better job of organizing them - and making sure that all of them are backed up on CD's (something I haven't done in awhile now).. When I'm in the mood to scrapbook again, I don't want to have to do another search like that!
