What an ordeal! This was partly AT&T's fault because I had several dropped calls. The first CM I talked to was super-nice and knew exactly what I wanted to do (this is for January 2009) but JUST when we got to the part where I gave her my CC number to charge the new $200 deposit, we were disconnected.

The next two CMs flat-out said this was impossible to do even though I told them I was in the final stage of finalizing it minutes before (and I gave them the first CM's name)

The next three calls dropped while the CMs had me on hold to investigate.

FINALLY, a great CM named Damien, after hearing my frustration, took my phone number in case we were disconnected again (which, the other CMs had anyway since they had my file open, I'd guess) and got it all straightened out. He said the 2009 code for AP discount room w/dining is "buried" so CMs have to do a bit of digging. He didn't give me the code, sorry, but the first CM told me that the one listed in the January watch thread was incorrect.

Now I just have to wait for my confirmation email to feel totally comfy with it.

I keep contemplating splitting a stay but after this ordeal I think I won't be doing any changing! Anyway, the point of my post is to say that a) it IS possible to get an AP discount with the DDP for the 2009 dates available and b) keep trying if the CM tells you no.

What is it w AP and DINING codes?
I had one when I booked my OWN ressie, then my TA (who only booked my air got possession of my ressie) tole me I didn't have the AP and DDP and would have to BUY a 1 day tIcket to get the DINING...Isn't hat for FREE DINNING?.

So I called Disney today, they FINALLY confirmed there ARE AP DINING, but I have to tell my agent to call to straighten it out.

Hoep my TA is enjoying the commission for all the work I researched and took care of BEFORE they booked my air.

YOu can get the free dining with a 1 day pass per person and pay the rack rate (value season rate). You can get the AP rate and Pay for the dining. YOu have to figure out which is a better deal. Most likely if at a Value, the FD is a better deal, at Deluxe maybe the room discount and pay for dining. For us, the FD was a better deal than a 54/night at ASMu was better and we have a 1 day pass for future use as well!! The 1 day pass can be used in the future to apply towards a new AP or a multiday pass. It doesn't expire, if it did the choice we made might not have been a good deal like it was.
